<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The All Progressives Congress, APC, has berated the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, accusing him of transparent opposition to President Muhammadu Buhari.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The party is angered by Nwodo’s decision to fix Imeobi meeting of Ohanaeze on Thursday.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">It is the same day President Buhari would arrive South-East states of Anambra and Enugu for presidential campaign.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Ohanaeze had fixed same Thursday for apex meeting of the group, Imeobi, where highest decisions of Ndigbo are made.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<a id="more" name="more"></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu said Ndigbo would at the meeting take a position on which direction they will cast their votes.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">However, the APC National Vice President for South East, Chief Emma Enukwu told reporters that the apex Igbo group will not stop the coming of Buhari to the region.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">He said, “Ohanaeze has always been known to assume different disposition to the detriment of Ndigbo when it comes to politics.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Ohanaeze is the only socio-cultural group that has taken a position on 2019 election with adoption of a candidate, but power belongs to God.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Ohanaeze doesn’t give power and Mr. President is coming to campaign and nothing will stop him.”</div>

30 corrupt people: Atiku under fire over comment on Buhari, Buratai, others

08:57 Unknown 0

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><img alt="" class="attachment- size- wp-post-image" height="384" src="http://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/ATIKU-NEW1.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET), has berated the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, for attempting to taint the person and office of the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Atiku had listed Buratai among 30 persons he claimed were corrupt and working for President Muhammadu Buhari.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Reacting, the centre said it was wrong for Atiku to drag the Army Chief into partisan politics.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Osaloni Gbemisola Osadua Esq, the Executive Director, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday, warned the PDP presidential flagbearer against peddling rumours that could cause injury to the integrity of others.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"></div>
<a id="more" name="more"></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">He said, “The pressure he is under, from political barometric as of today, is beyond the realization that he is set to lose the presidential election when it holds in a few days from now, the pressure is coming from the appreciation that the result of the polls will permanently and conclusively retire him from politics.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Rather than heralding a befitting end to an illustrious political career, this damning retirement would demystify Atiku Abubakar’s in the annals of Nigeria’s political history.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The PDP presidential candidate, in fairness to him having not been ever arraigned talk less of being convicted, goes around with the burden of corruption, heavy enough for himself to have acknowledged that allegations of corruption is the heaviest burden he has to carry in his failed quest to rule Nigeria.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Even though he has now embarked on a revisionism, Atiku Abubakar’s former boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, when he has prime contact with the PDP current candidate described him as the most corrupt Nigerian there was. We sympathize with him that he has to go around with this kind of tarnish.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“But it beats the imagination that this same Atiku Abubakar, irrespective of how desperate he has become in his bid to fend off an enforced retirement, is now wildly accusing other upstanding Nigerians of corruption. Our initial thought was that overzealous aides went beyond their briefs to make such accusations on behalf of Atiku Abubakar but we have since learnt that he is in on the game after waiting a considerable time without him walking back the release of the list by one Phrank Shaibu, who is said to be his Special Assistant on Public Communications.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“With the names that made Atiku’s list of corrupt persons connected to President Muhammadu Buhari, even the electorates that will cast the losing votes for him should at this point begin to question the extent to which their choice candidate has succumbed to psychosis. The list confirmed that Atiku Abubakar’s desperation no longer has much to do about winning but is now the manifestation of a man that has become embittered by the prospect of losing to the extent that he maniacally wants to drag down everyone with him.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“First, the list went on to name the likes of Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Ayodele Oke, the suspended Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). This goes to show that Atiku is obsessed with finding allegations of corruption against President Buhari to the point where the PDP candidate continues to accuse him of being connected to the people he has sacked.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">We also saw Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the APC; Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and other past and serving appointees making the list even when they have never been convicted by any court, save the circus of public opinion convened by Atikulooters.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Most infuriating for Nigerians is Atiku Abubakar’s indiscretion in including names of patriots like Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, which is wrong on many levels.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“We consider it most unpatriotic to insult a man that is leading Nigerian troops against terrorist in this manner without substantiating the allegations of corruption against him. It is on record that the Code of Conduct Bureau has cleared him long ago and he has not been convicted by any law court. We have followed Buratai antecedents and know him as an honest and transparent man, who has conducted himself appropriately in office.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is ridiculous how the same candidate that was harping on the need for the military to be apolitical to now be the one trying to drag the Army into politics.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The inclusion of a serving military chief in his phantom list is consistent with the errands that Atiku’s minions and urchins have been running on his behalf for several months now. These errands, as have been reported, are meant to undermine the military and provoke a leadership change so that pro-coup-plot officers that are sympathetic to reversing Atiku’s unfolding political twilight will come into office.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">This is a brazen threat against our democracy and must not be received halfheartedly. Nigerians must rise up across party line to demand that Atiku contain whatever emotional fall out arising from his imminent loss to himself and not drag the country down with him.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“CESJET warns that attempts by desperate politicians to drag the Army as an institution into politics should be totally discarded as by well-meaning Nigerians will resist such plot using all permissible means.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“There is no law that precludes people from becoming insane by reason of emotional stress brought on by the glaring confirmation of loss at the polls. What the Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET) and indeed the entire Nigerians will not condone is when the insanity involves the patient going berserk and indiscriminately throwing muds at honorable citizens, whose weakest moments trump Atiku at his most pious.”</div>

Obasanjo vs Buhari: You lack respect – PDP attacks Tinubu

08:57 Unknown 0

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><img alt="" class="attachment- size- wp-post-image" height="419" src="http://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/tinubu1.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the All Progressives Congress, APC, national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to be mindful of his choice of words.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The PDP was reacting to the former Lagos Governor’s remarks on Olusegun Obasanjo, following the former President’s public letter, in which he raised several allegations against President Buhari.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The PDP said the former Governor was disrespectful and reckless in his comment against Obasanjo.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">PDP in a statement by its National spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said, “Tinubu in his tirade against the former President sounded like a disrobed ruler facing a pang of defeat as he watches his empire being legitimately taken.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<a id="more" name="more"></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is shocking that Asiwaju of Lagos can be in cahoots with President Muhammadu Buhari, who has always been in league with all known dictators, while at the same time claiming to be on the side of democrats.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is however not a surprise that Tinubu is in severe pain because President Obasanjo exposed their rigging plans. Asiwaju had always won elections for himself and his cronies through rigging and this account for his bitterness.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“His reliance on rigging was typified in the Osun election where results were manipulated in order not to ‘disgrace’ the fading politics of the Asiwaju of Lagos.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Let it be placed on record that the story of that election has not been fully told by Tinubu in his snide remarks against President Obasanjo.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“He chose to be silent on that phone call which was clandestinely put across to Abuja, consequent upon which the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared an election already won by the PDP, as inconclusive. Since the matter is in court, we will not join Tinubu in abusing court processes.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The main opposition party called on Tinubu to search his conscience and come up with a denial that he shares no closeness with Atiku.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is also important to state that Atiku Abubakar did not claim to have rigged election in the South-West,” the party added.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“However, if Tinubu today denies his affinity with Atiku Abubakar, which is well known in the entire nation, then he can deny even his own existence.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“it is an established fact that Obasanjo remains a statesman and a global figure who always speak the truth to power and put the interest of our nation above all.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">On the commitment to anti-graft war, the party further noted that “President Obasanjo and PDP genuinely fought corruption in this country.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“With the establishment of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Special Fraud Intelligence Unit, SFIU in the police as well as the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, to investigate economic crimes and corruption activities as well as trial of Nigerians believed to have committed wrongdoings.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Under President Obasanjo, there were no sacred cows in the fight against corruption, unlike what we are witnessing today, in which corruption has become pervasive under the nose of President Buhari in the presidential villa.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The party further said it was ridiculous “that Tinubu can attempt to justify the sharing of N10, 000 each to traders, in the market by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Asiwaju of Lagos has not read and like President Buhari is also unaware that the same poor people which Osinbajo claimed to be helping with his ‘tradermoni’ voodoo, chased him out of the UTC market in Abuja.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is imperative to ask Tinubu if he saw the cartoon making the round, where poor people were depicted thronging around him with paltry N10,000 in their hands while he sat on his throne with full chicken in his hands and telling the famished lot that he has nothing to offer them.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Nigerians already know that their help is not in the hands of people like Asiwaju of Lagos and President Buhari, who are amassing wealth for themselves and their generations yet unborn, while the people live in squalor</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“In modern day governance, leaders do not give handouts to the citizens, they create enabling environment for them to prosper.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“We challenge Asiwaju of Lagos to go round the markets of Idumota, Alaba, Ikeja Yaba and ask the traders if the N10, 000 has yielded them the profit to purchase hotels, oil companies, airlines, and tax collecting agencies.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Since Asiwaju of Lagos understands the reason for collation of PVC numbers in exchange for the N10, 000 trader money, he will do the nation good, especially at this time, if he provides explanation for this joint venture outside rigging of elections.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“It is shameful that Tinubu can compare any administration in the history of our nation to the Buhari administration.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Nigerians have never been this hungry, our purchasing power has never been this low, our fault lines have never been this manifest and our nation has never been turned into a huge funeral parlour as we have witnessed under President Buhari’s incompetent, divisive and colossally corrupt administration.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“At no time in our history had Nigerians gone to the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos to take a plunge to death.”</div>
