Contrary to Mr. Malami’s claim, I never bought any property from the EFCC.<br /> <br /> “If Mr. Malami had conducted a search on the property in question, he would have found that it was one of the assets used to ‘collaterise’ a loan obtained from Bank PHB by A Group Properties over 10 years ago.<br /> <br /> “He would also have found that the property is a subject matter of a suit which is currently pending before the Federal High Court sitting at Abuja. (See Suit No /2015 between Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria v A Group Properties Limited).”<br /> <br /> The human rights lawyer added that the suit was instituted by AMCON due to the failure of the company to liquidate the loan.<br /> <br /> Falana said in granting the ex parte application, filed by AMCON in the matter, the court ordered an interim forfeiture of the assets of A Group Properties Limited including No. 42 Gana Street, Maitama District, Abuja.<br /> <br /> He added, “The said order was granted on November 11, 2015. However, in a bid to pay the loan, A Group Properties Limited decided to sell some of the properties. The sale of the property in question to me was made subject to the setting aside of the order of interim forfeiture which had been obtained by AMCON.<br /> <br /> “Up till now, the case has not been concluded as the parties have asked for time to resolve the dispute amicably and file terms of settlement. To that extent, the transaction on the property remains inchoate.<br /> <br /> <br /> “Although the said order of interim forfeiture was granted in favour of AMCON over two years ago, Mr. Malami has not deemed it fit to disclose to the Federal High Court that the property at 42 Gana Street, Maitama District, Abuja, was recovered by the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform.”

Timothy Antigha, Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 8 Task Force Division, made the disclosure in a statement issued on Sunday in Maiduguri.<br /> <br /> Antigha said that the soldiers lost their lives while fighting to repel the insurgents who tried to infiltrate the area on Saturday.<br /> <br /> He disclosed that six other soldiers sustained injuries in the attack while some platforms were also attacked and damaged by the terrorists.<br /> <br /> Antigha added that the troops had successfully repelled the attack, noting that normalcy has been restored to the area.<br /> <br /> “At about 6:00PM yesterday, 25TH November, 2017; suspected elements of Boko Haram terrorists attempted to attack Magumeri. As a prelude to the intended attack on the town, the terrorists attempted to dislodge the Forward Operational Base in Magumeri, Borno State.<br /> <br /> “However, soldiers of 5 Brigade Garrison located in the town repelled the attack, the troops fought gallantly.<br /> <br /> “Unfortunately, three soldiers lost their lives, while six others sustained injuries. The bodies of the deceased soldiers and the wounded have been evacuated”.<br /> <br /> Antigha added that the wounded soldiers were referred to its medical facility for treatment.<br /> <br /> “The 8 Division wishes to assure all residents of Magumeri that everything is being done to ensure their safety and security. They must carry one person at a time.<br /> <br /> “The vests are numbered. There are emergency numbers to call in case a passenger has a problem with any commercial motorcycle operator.<br /> <br /> “We all want Lagos to be a mega city but this cannot be achieved when we have commercial motorcycle operators without helmets, taking one way and BRT lanes.<br /> <br /> “In enforcing traffic laws, community policing is the way out as I don’t intend to enforce these laws without you.”<br /> <br /> Edgal directed that the two motorcycle transport unions should have a database for commercial motorcycle operators in the state.<br /> <br /> He said that increasing rate of accidents involving commercial motorcyclists made it necessary for their operations to be strictly monitored.<br /> <br /> “When you go to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, and see cases, you will see that there is the need to monitor their (commercial motorcyclists‘) operations,” he said.<br /> <br /> Responding, the Chairman of MOALS, Mr Pekis Tijani, said that the union leaders would fully implement the directive.<br /> <br /> Tijani, who commended the police boss for the meeting, assured him that motorcycle operation in Lagos would take a new shape.
