The fire was a blow but I’m determined to pick up the pieces, rebuild and come back stronger.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“I’m mentally exhausted, traumatized, and emotionally overwhelmed but I’m praying to God to give me the strength to get back on my feet.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“I want to thank everyone that tried to reach out to me, I’m truly grateful. In the Bwari Area council, a boy is in the hospital due to the challenges of these herdsmen, so we are pleading with the government to help us.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“We are human beings and we can’t survive without food because food is a basic need. Even when you are in the office, you can’t concentrate well without food. In the morning we eat breakfast, in the afternoon we eat lunch and in the evening we eat dinner. While eating, let us endeavour to think about where the food comes from so that we will know how to support those that are producing those farm produce because it is not easy for a human being to enter into the bush, just to put things in order”.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Most times we do not have money to cultivate but we try our best to survive because the government does not give us loans to support us. After all our struggles, at the end of the day, we do not harvest anything because of herdsmen. We call on the government to help us, this insecurity is affecting us very well.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The group also harped the need for budgetary allocations to the Agriculture sector to be prioritized.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The FCT would need to significantly improve allocation to extension service as a measure to bridge the deficit in that area of service to farmers. Increased spending for logistics support and qualified personnel would be required to improve service.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Allocation to agriculture sector must be given priority attention in the FCT in line with the Maputo declaration to improve food and nutritional security in the FCT as well as increase women farmers livelihood and contribution to agriculture development in line with the Gender mainstream policy of government directing gender inclusiveness in all programme and project of government at all level,” the group added.</p>

Better, and stronger than ever before and will be performing live together on stage for the first time in over 4 years as they headline at the biggest entertainment festival in Nigeria.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Calling all P-Square lovers and fans to come enjoy this 3-hour special reunion performance where they will give us back to back hits and soak us in nostalgia as we witness incredible dance routines that only P-Square can deliver, exclusively for us!”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>To the disappointment of their fans, the brothers did not give a clear reason for their ‘beef’, which led to the disbandment of their group five years ago.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Last week Wednesday, however, they were seen in a viral video embracing after years of the feud that led to the split of their band, P-Square.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The duo also jointly celebrated their 40th birthday last Thursday and performed some of their hit songs as they entertained guests in their birthday bash.</p>

Further to this, I wish to state that in the course of my work Rema’s record was obtained, and the right steps were taken.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Attached to this are screenshots of email of the final mixed and mastered versions of the said work forwarded to Rema’s manager (in line with International Best Practices and Procedures), and other members of his team, dated 21st September 2021, notifying them of the inclusion of the said composition in my album, and also the proposed release date of the album.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Further to this, I am also attaching a response dated 21st September 2021 issued by Rema’s manager, through whom the said composition was earlier forwarded to me, acknowledging the receipt of the same email.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“And upon other telecommunications, I did give instruction to my legal representative to forward the collaboration agreement to Rema’s manager and team as earlier specified. Upon same, my lawyer was contacted by a licencing officer of Rema’s label for negotiations and clearance.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Terms were agreed upon on 24th November, 2021, and the execution copy was to be sent in the morning of 25th November 2021, when I was contacted that Rema had requested the song be flagged down on the account of non-notice,” the letter read.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>After the notice, DJ Neptune revealed he contacted Rema’s team to explain that the track could not be flagged down as that would amount to the flagging down of the entire album.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Later in the day, I spoke to Rema’s team and I was made to understand that information was not properly circulated by the manager, and since I had made known the proper information with screenshot, then the fault was not in anyway mine, and it is just normal that we proceed with the release of my album while Rema’s terms would be attended to once the album drops,” he continued.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The DJ clarified that despite the call out, he was not in any way upset with Rema “as it is obvious that proper information was not passed across to him through his available channels.”</p> <p> </p> <p>“It’s all love on this side, keep winning Remy boi,” he wrote on the caption.</p>

These are; the wound should not be cut open, the venom also should not be sucked out of the wound.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“A tourniquet, ice or water should not be put on the snake bite area, magic stone should not be applied on the wound and alcohol, beverages or any other medications should not be administered to a snake bite victim.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The only medication that can work when such occurs is an antivenom administration in a government or certified private health facility.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Omoteemi who warned that a bite from a poisonous snake is dangerous explained that on most occasions, it may be hard to know whether the snake that bit someone is poisonous or not, especially if the snake has not been found.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Not all snakes are poisonous. But snakes like the black mamba, timber rattlesnake, and copperhead are extremely poisonous and can make someone collapse within 45 minutes.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Recall that recently a Nigerian Airforce personnel, Lance Corporal Ogah Bercy died in Abuja as a result of complications from a snake bite.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>According to reports, she was bitten by a snake in her toilet at the Airforce Base, Clinton Drive, Abuja.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>She reportedly died because an antivenom was not administered to her on time.</p>

John Hayab, on Friday confirmed to newsmen that the kidnappers of the 66 worshippers of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were demanding N99m ransom.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He also confirmed that two of the abductees of the Church were killed on the spot, one other was later shot dead while two were injured and hospitalised.</p> <span><a name='more' id="more"></a></span> <p><br /></p> <p>Rev. Hayab said aside from the 66 persons kidnapped from the Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, that on November 6th, they picked five young men between the ages of 15 to 24 as if they were going to release them, not knowing that they had evil intention.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Rev. Hayab said, “They opened fire on all of them. Two died on the spot and one later died. We have buried three and two others who sustained injuries are still being treated but 61 are with them in the bush and nothing is happening.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The state CAN Chairman also confirmed the release of one of the remaining four Bethel Baptist High school students, Kaduna, after spending over 150 days in captivity.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The students were kidnapped on 5th July 2021 in the school premises numbering 121 along the Kaduna-Kachia highway and were released in batches.</p>

But we have been directed to transfer the matter and after necessary documentation is completed, the suspects will be moved to Abuja.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>In his reaction, Naim Adekilekun, the counsel to the Adegoke family, said he was told that Force Headquarters had taken over the investigation into the matter.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Adekilekun however demanded that the matter must be returned to Osun State Police command for its investigators to complete the probe into the death. He said, “I have been informed. But we don’t want the case transferred. It has to be transferred back.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Meanwhile, counsel to Adedoyin, Mr Abiodun Williams, in his reaction to the development, said his client was innocent.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He said, “We are not bothered. Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Bartholomew Onyeka, immediately drafted a tactical team of the Command to the scene to avert a further attack.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Unfortunately, 10 persons were killed and about 30 houses set ablaze by the attackers. The Commissioner of Police further led other Senior Officers of the Command to the scene for an on the spot assessment and to console with the victims of the attack.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Recall that the state was recently engulfed with the activities of criminal elements who plunged it into a religious crisis leading to the death of many residents.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Some schools were shut down following the killings in the state as governors across the country evacuated their indigenes studying in Jos, the state capital.</p>

Sunday Igboho did not commit any offence whatsoever; that’s our position.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Those who went to invade his house were terrorists in Nigerian security uniform and they have no right whatsoever and that has been tested in a court of competent jurisdiction. Igboho has been absolved and the government was visited with N20bn worth of damages.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“In spite of the impunity of the Buhari government, we insist that Nigeria shall not be governed except by the rule of law,” the statement added.</p>

I have said it way back in 1951 that I will not be a party member but I will support a candidate of my choice.”</p> <p>On the APC leader’s visit, the elder statesman said, “He (Tinubu) just came to visit me but actually I have two of them (presidential aspirants) that I have earmarked right from the beginning and I made a vow that any one of them who came to ask for my support first is the person I would support. Tinubu is the first person.”</p> <p>When asked whether Tinubu told him he would be contesting for President in 2021, Yakasai said, “He (Tinubu) did and he asked for my support.”</p> <p>Yakasai, however, said he didn’t disclose to Tinubu, during the visit, that he would support his ambition.</p> <p>He also said that interested aspirants must first scale the hurdles of primary elections in their various political parties “then we will begin to compare them.”</p> <div><br /></div>

The six African countries will be placed on the U.K.’s red list as of Sunday, requiring travelers to quarantine in hotels upon arrival.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Singapore on Friday also moved to restrict travel from South Africa and nearby nations, following Israel, which acted late Thursday after the U.K. announced its measures.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Scientists are still trying to determine whether the new variant, called B.1.1529, is more transmissible or more lethal than previous ones. What’s clear is that it has the most mutations of any strain yet identified. That’s raised concerns inside South Africa and internationally, with authorities fearing a wave of cases that could increase pressure on already strained health-care systems.</p> <span><a name='more' id="more"></a></span> <p><br /></p> <p>“As part of our close surveillance of variants across the world, we have become aware of the spread of a new potentially concerning variant,” Javid said in a statement, adding that the new strain it’s now under investigation.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson moved quickly after facing criticism for keeping travel open initially when earlier variants were detected in South Africa and India, allowing them to spread. The U.K. has wrestled with one of the world’s biggest outbreaks of the delta strain since the summer.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The U.K.’s flight ban is a further blow to the airline industry, which was starting to recover from earlier travel restrictions and lockdowns but now faces fresh curbs and a resurgent virus in parts of Europe. The measures mark the biggest change in the U.K.’s Covid travel rules since the so-called traffic light system was overhauled earlier in the autumn to ease border crossings.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>From 500 to 700 people daily arrive in the U.K. via South Africa on flights, a number that would normally be expected to increase in the next four to six weeks due to seasonal travel.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>In addition to South Africa, the countries covered by the new restrictions are Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zimbabwe and Botswana.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>In South Africa, virologists have detected almost 100 cases linked to the new variant to date, according to Anne von Gottberg, a clinical microbiologist and head of respiratory diseases at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases. No cases have been identified in the U.K., the health department said.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>World Health Organization officials have met to discuss the variant, which has also been detected in Botswana, where it’s been found in people who were vaccinated against Covid.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Armed by our experience and understanding of the alpha and delta variants, we know that early action is far better than late action,” Ewan Birney, deputy director general of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, said in a Science Media Centre briefing note. “It may turn out that this variant is not as large a threat as alpha and delta, but the potential consequences of not acting on the possibility it could be are serious.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The new variant probably evolved during a chronic infection of an immuno-compromised person, possibly in an untreated HIV/AIDS patient, said Francois Balloux, director of the UCL Genetics Institute. The world’s biggest number of HIV cases has made it more difficult for South Africa to fight the Covid pandemic, because the virus can linger for longer in people whose immune systems are compromised, potentially offering a bigger window for mutations.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>WHO experts are meeting Friday with authorities from South Africa, according to U.K. officials. It will take several weeks to see the impact of the new variant on hospitalizations and deaths and to study how it may interact with vaccines.</p>

S. Sotayo, after reviewing the facts of the case presented before him by the Prosecutor, ASP Wale Diyaolu, convicted Dosumu, but with an option of N200,000 fine.</p> <span><a name='more' id="more"></a></span> <p><br /></p> <p>According to the Magisterate, all the evidences before the court had proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Dosumu was guilty of the crime as charged, even aside his admission of guilt.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The prosecutor, Diyaolu, had earlier informed the court that the convict committed the offence on Tuesday at Eyinni Comprehensive High School, Iboro Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Diyaolu had disclosed that the SSS3 student threatened to kill or injure the teacher, identified as Mr Ismail Fadeyi, with a broken bottle.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The offence, Diyaolu maintained, contravened Section 86 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.</p>

We used to think that it will take a while, but today, the circumstances have changed.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Osinbajo added that public investments from the European Union (EU) and multilateral oil and gas companies are fizzling out.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The VP noted that the Export Expansion Facility Programme (EEFP) is a natural progression for the zero-oil plan.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He advised stakeholders to brace up for the challenges ahead and ensure that the right things are done.</p>

But he commended all of them for the progress we are recording on all fronts.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The minister stated further that President Buhari ordered the armed forces and other security agencies, intelligence organizations, not to rest on their oars, notwithstanding the progress and efforts being made to eliminate insurgency, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, and all the other criminalities.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The President said we are not yet where we should be, that Nigerians deserve to live in peace and that until we achieved that, we will not rest,” he added.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Asked if the resurgence of criminal activities along Abuja-Kaduna highways was discussed at the meeting, Aregbesola said: “Oh, yes. The police and other security agencies have been mobilized to intensify surveillance, patrol in pursuit of the criminals.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“It’s not only about Abuja, Kaduna. Yes, Abuja-Kaduna belt was discussed specifically, but we appreciated the fact that we are in the season of festivity.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“So, all agencies committed to providing security for Nigeria and the maintenance of law and order have  been ordered to improve on their activities, intensify surveillance and minimize, if not eliminate totally, any threat to law and order anywhere in Nigeria.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>On who takes the lead, the police or the military, the minister said:   “Police, as I said, is the lead agency on internal security. So whatever I’ve said about maintenance of law and order will start with the police and then extend to all the other security agencies, certainly.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Also asked if the issue or bandits collecting ransom, taking over and administering some areas in the country was discussed, he said: “Specific orders have been given to all our security agencies. And we’ll see an improved response to all those challenging the sovereignty of Nigeria in whatever form and creating insecurity in whatever form anywhere.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The council, today (yesterday) took a firm decision on what to be done and I can assure Nigerians that with the charge from the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces today (yesterday), there will be an improved response to all forms of criminality in any part of Nigeria.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>On whether there were new strategies to that effect, especially as it was not the first time such a charge would be given by the President,  Aregbesola said: “But what I know is that for as long as there is life, we must not rest until our objective of making Nigeria safe for Nigerians is made possible.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”So, I am convinced that with the renewed charge to our security agencies, from the military, to the police, intelligence organizations and all other security forces, certainly Nigerians will feel and live better going forward.”</p> <p>The Interior minister also said President Buhari was particularly pleased with the outcome of the November 6 governorship elections that produced former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Prof. Charles Soludo, as Anambra governor-elect.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He said: “The President was particularly happy with the fact that a free and fair election was made possible by INEC and our security agencies. And that that is a good assurance to all Nigerians, that we are committed to promoting democracy,  in respect of Anambra election.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The President was particularly happy that a free and fair gubernatorial election held in Anambra.  And he was quite elated that the combination of INEC and  the security agencies, from the military to the police and all the other agencies made that possible, with the support of the people and government of Anambra State.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”We all saw the outcome. With that, there is no doubt as to the commitment of our administration to promote democracy, and ensure that 2023 is not in any way threatened.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Aregbesola said Buhari was also particularly satisfied with the news that the Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Garba Umar, had been elected Vice President (Africa) and executive committee member of the International Criminal Police Organisation, INTERPOL.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The council was briefed about the election today (yesterday) of a Nigerian, AIG Garba Umaru, who emerged out of four other candidates, as the vice president of Interpol for Africa, which means that a Nigerian today, represents the 54 African nations at the Interpol level.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”The election took place today (yesterday), a couple of hours ago. And he emerged as the vice president of Interpol in Africa, representing 54 African nations. That too was discussed, appreciated and applauded,” the minister said.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Present at the meeting were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; National Security Adviser, NSA, Major General Babagana Monguno, retd, and the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Leo Irabor.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Others include the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff and the Chief of Air Staff as well as the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Before the meeting commenced, President Buhari, with the assistance of Vice President Osinbajo, had decorated his Aide=De-Camp, ADC, Lt Col Yusuf Mukhtar Dodo, with his new red neck rank of Colonel.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Meanwhile, lawmakers from Kaduna State in the House of Representatives yesterday expressed concern over the security threats, kidnappings and killings along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Speaking under the aegis of Kaduna caucus at a briefing in Abuja, the lawmakers said  the situation was frightening.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Garba Datti, who read the text of their address, called on the security agencies to deploy personnel on the roads to tackle the menace.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He said:  “The state of insecurity in Nigeria has been a matter of grave concern to all well meaning patriots for several years now and this has come in the form of militancy, insurgency and banditry, among others.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”This state of insecurity has severely affected travel on Nigerian roads as Nigerians have either opted to remain where they are or opt for means of transportation that are outside their means or convenience.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Not so long ago, there were concerning incessant incidents of banditry along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway and measures were taken that appeared to have minimised the threat on that stretch of road. It was hoped that that would be the beginning of the end of the challenge of insecurity on our roads as it affected the entire country.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”Sadly, this has not been the case. Instead, the phenomenon of banditry has steadily and increasingly found its way back to the Abuja-Kaduna highway.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“In the last five days, it has reached its deplorable and lamentable peak as a spate of attacks, killings, abductions, kidnappings and robberies that has engulfed the Abuja-Kaduna Highway has resulted in a crisis of frightening and calamitous proportions.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”On Sunday, November 21, 2021, in the most publicised but certainly not the only one of such daring attacks over the last few days, a retired Director of Protocol of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, and a governorship aspirant in Zamfara State, Hamidu Sagir, was brutally killed, while four yet-to-be ascertained number of commuters were abducted in terrifying circumstances.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“This seemingly underestimated onslaught on our individual, collective and national security has continued unabated, in spite of its seeming predictability. It is obvious that this should not be the case.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“There is no gainsaying the fact that security is one of the paramount policies of the current administration for which it has left no stone unturned towards neutralising the scourge. In addition, the Abuja-Kaduna highway is the critical gateway between the North and the South of Nigeria and the major link road to the North West and North East as well as to many neighbouring countries.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”Indeed, the Abuja Kaduna highway is the key outlet for the transportation of persons, goods and services across Nigeria and this is evident in the extraordinary traffic on it round the clock.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“For these and other reasons that cannot be accommodated in this statement, it is imperative that the secure state of the Abuja-Kaduna highway must be restored at once.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Let us add that the perpetuation of this state of insecurity on the Abuja-Kaduna highway as well as many other highways in this country challenges the Nigerian state in terms of its obligations to Nigerians to guarantee the security and welfare of the people as the primary purpose of government pursuant to section 14(2)(b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Also, the killings and maiming on our highways severely infringe upon the right to life of Nigerians as guaranteed under section 33(1) of the Constitution. We must caution that the situation on the highways, particularly the Abuja-Kaduna highway, if not immediately rectified, spells doom for the economy and the social life of Nigerians, contrary to section 15(1) of the Constitution, which mandates the Nigerian state to ‘provide adequate facilities for and encourage free mobility of people, goods and services throughout’ Nigeria as well as section 41(1) which guarantees the right to freedom of movement throughout Nigeria to every Nigerian.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“We are worried that the sad consequence of this state of affairs is that this nation and Nigerians have lost a lot in human lives, financial resources, human dignity and citizen confidence as well as that the nation and Nigerians are at risk of losing substantially more.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“In our determination that this state of affairs must be immediately reversed as a matter of urgency in the discharge of the state’s obligation to guarantee the security and welfare of the people, we hereby call on the relevant security agencies in Nigeria to urgently and without further delay, collaborate to put an end to the nefarious and despicable activities of these criminals and secure the Abuja-Kaduna highway and all such other highways by deploying the personnel and material resources as well as intelligence necessary to accomplish the same.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“We shall encourage and support every effort by the House of Representatives, and, indeed, the National Assembly and every agency of government towards ensuring the restoration of calm and peace along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.”</p>
