Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has admitted that he and every single player are to blame for their 5-2 defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
The result brought to an end Tuchel’s winning start as the Blues boss.
Christian Pulisic opened scoring for Chelsea before Thiago Silva picked up two yellow cards within the opening 30 minutes.
Matheus Pereira’s brace turned the game on its head before Callum Robinson made it 4-1.

Although Mason Mount pulled one back, Robinson added another deep into stoppage time to seal a shock result.
“It is two games, 11 v 11 and then 11 v 10. There is no need to concede five goals when you have our quality, that’s for sure but we are all in on that. Myself included.
“We could not adapt to the situation which is a surprise as we were leading. We are normally confident enough to defend but we were sloppy and kept making big mistakes. We were punished hard and it’s tough to digest.
“I didn’t see the red card, I saw the two big mistakes in our own half before the yellow cards. That is not typical for us, we were rusty. We made easy mistakes and were punished. It was totally our fault.
“I did not see that second half coming. We tried to give a bit of security with a back three but we were never in a flow. We had some chances but we didn’t defend well,” Tuchel told BBC Sports.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the Monday night attack on three communities in Íshíelu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The President directed law enforcement agencies to fish out the attackers and make them face justice.
The affected communities are Egedegede, Obegu and Amuzu communities.
The Nigerian leader stressed that the perpetrators of the “heinous attacks” must not be spared.

Buhari extended his sympathies to families and friends who have lost loved ones and to the communities.
He also sympathized with the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
Soludo, a governorship aspirant in Anambra, was attacked during a town hall meeting in Aguata LGA. Three police escorts were killed.
“Our prayers are with him and the families of the security operatives who lost their lives trying to defend innocent citizens assembled for a peaceful meeting.”
Buhari reassured Nigerians that ongoing efforts which had led to the record recovery of illegal weapons and arrests of a large number of arms suppliers would be intensified.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, mourned the late spokesman of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, describing him as dutiful and a man of conviction.
Buhari’s position on Odumakin, who served as his spokesman when he contested the 2011 presidential election on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change, was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The statement titled, ‘President Buhari mourns Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin’, read, “President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with the family, friends and acquaintances of Yinka Odumakin, spokesman of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere.
“Odumakin was also spokesman to the then Gen Buhari in 2011, when he ran for President on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change, now defunct.

The lawmaker who represented the Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has reacted to the death of Afenifere Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin.
It was reported that Yinka Odumakin died Saturday morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
There has been reports that the Afenifere spokesman died at LASUTH COVID-19 Isolation Centre after testing positive for the virus.
Reacting, Senator Melaye in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle, said it was sad that good people often die while the ‘tormentors’ live.

Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has mocked a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri over the protest he organised against President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Friday.
Buhari on Tuesday jetted out to London where he is expected to spend a minimum of two weeks carrying out routine medical checkup.
However, Nigerians living in the UK, in protest against the President’s medical visit, trooped to the Abuja House in London, demanding that he is sent back to Nigeria.
Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, who shared a video on Twitter, showed the protesters at the Abuja house grounds making the demand.

Omokri described the protest as a resounding success and claimed he was the convener of the ‘Harass Buhari Out of London’ rally.
The former presidential aide said the police could not stop the protest because it was held in strict compliance with COVID19 protocols with protesters massing in groups of six.
But responding to Kayode Ogundamasi’s tweet where he (Kayode) also mocked Omokri writing, “Aide to former President @GEJonathan, “Pastor” @renoomokri leads “massive” protest in London against @NGRPresident @MBuhari.”
Governor El-Rufai mockingly added, “Massive protest indeed…”
During the protest, Omokri had accused Buhari of being irresponsible, saying the President left Nigeria for a medical trip the day resident doctors were embarking on a nationwide strike
He told his listeners that Buhari has been in office for over 5 years but has failed to initiate, start and complete even one hospital.
Omokri claimed that over N10 billion has so far been budgeted for the Aso Rock State House Clinic in the five years that Buhari has been President but alleged there was nothing to show for the monies spent.

Buba Marwa, Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has requested that all Nigerians be made to undergo drug tests.
In a statement signed by Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesperson, on Friday, Marwa said mandatory testing is important to identify drug addicts.
He also advised parents to make their children and their partners go for drug tests before marriage.
“At the centre of drug demand reduction is drug testing. Practically, all Nigerians should be subjected to drug tests.

“This will enable us to know those afflicted, who need treatment and rehabilitation.
“It will equally curb drug abuse because once you know that a result from a drug test will hamper your progression in school, political career or at work, it will stop you from taking them.
“Also, we do expect parents to make sure their children don’t get married to addicts by insisting on drug tests before marriage,” he said.
Recall that the NDLEA Chairman earlier recommended that a drug test be carried out on politicians and anyone running for public office.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel suffered the first defeat of his reign as struggling West Bromwich Albion took advantage of Thiago Silva’s red card to earn a stunning 5-2 win on Saturday.
Tuchel had overseen a 14-match unbeaten run in all competitions since replacing the sacked Frank Lampard in January.
But that impressive start came to an embarrassing end as West Brom ran riot at Stamford Bridge.
Christian Pulisic put Chelsea ahead early in the first half, only for Brazil defender Thiago to get his marching orders moments later for a second booking.

That proved the turning point as Albion’s Matheus Pereira struck twice in first half stoppage-time.
Mbaye Diagne grabbed West Brom’s third goal and Callum Robinson netted twice to leave Tuchel shell-shocked.
Mason Mount’s reply was no consolation as Chelsea’s bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League via a top four finish in the Premier League suffered a significant blow.
 The Blues, beaten for the first time in 10 league games, remain fourth for now, but both West Ham and Tottenham would go above them if they win on Monday and Sunday respectively.
After conceding just two goals in Tuchel’s reign, with seven consecutive clean-sheets since the defence was last breached at Southampton in February, this was a rude awakening for Chelsea.
For the first time since 2011 against Arsenal, Chelsea conceded five goals at home in the league.
It was the worst possible preparation for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Porto on Wednesday.
West Brom remain second bottom but their first league win at Chelsea since 1978 gives them a glimmer of hope in the fight to avoid relegation.
Sam Allardyce’s team are seven points from safety with eight games left.
Thiago was making his first Chelsea start since February 4 after recovering from a thigh problem, but he was completely out of touch on his return.
The early signs were ominous when Jorginho’s wayward pass was intercepted by Pereira on the edge of the Chelsea penalty area, forcing Thiago into a cynical foul that earned him a yellow card.
Despite their sloppy start, Tuchel’s men took the lead in the 27th minute.
Marcos Alonso’s 25-yard free-kick cannoned back off the post and Pulisic was first to react as he alertly steered his shot past Sam Johnstone from close-range.
But Thiago gifted Albion a lifeline two minutes later when he jumped into a rash two-footed foul on Okay Yokuslu.
The 36-year-old could have no complaints about his first dismissal since he saw red while playing for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
In keeping with their erratic display, Chelsea were punished for some dismal defending in first half stoppage-time.
A long punt forward by Johnstone should have been dealt with easily, but Kurt Zouma allowed Pereira to run behind him and guide a superb lob over the exposed Edouard Mendy.
Suddenly incapable of getting out of their own half, Chelsea fell behind with virtually the last kick of the half.
James surrendered possession and Diagne found Pereira, who danced through the shambolic Chelsea defence before guiding cool low finish past Mendy from 10 yards.
Chelsea nearly drew level immediately when Johnstone made a hash of James’ cross, forcing Semi Ajayi to turn Alonso’s shot onto the post.
Mount, on as a half-time substitute, nearly caught out Johnstone with a clever free-kick, but Chelsea suffered a hammer blow in the 63rd minute.
A flowing move from the visitors ended with Robinson running onto Darnell Furlong’s cross to smash a superb volley past Mendy from 12 yards.
Chelsea were in tatters and West Brom compounded their misery with a superb 68th minute break that featured a flurry of deft passes before Diagne slotted home.
Mount reduced the deficit with a close-range finish from Timo Werner’s pass in the 71st minute.
But Tuchel’s misery was complete in stoppage-time when Robinson struck again with a dinked finish.

Three suspected kidnappers were gunned down during a fire exchange between them, the Police and vigilantes in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.
It was gathered that the fight followed a report that the suspects had kidnapped three women to an unknown location.
As a result of which, the police and vigilante group the area mobilized into the forest in order to rescue the victims.
It was learnt that the team trailed the Kidnappers to a forest near Fapo village, where they engaged them in a fierce fight that resulted in the killing of the Kidnappers and the eventual rescue of the victims.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said based on credible information received that unknown gunmen kidnapped three victims at different locations and took them to an unknown destination, the police and vigilantes lunched a manhunt to save the abductees.
He said the hoodlums were trailed to a forest near Fapo village via Lapai LGA where they were engaged in a fierce gun battle.
” Three suspected kidnappers were fatally gunned down, two AK47 rifles and one locally fabricated AK47 rifle were recovered, while other members of the syndicate escaped with gunshot injuries and the three victims were rescued unhurt.”
The state police also called on members of the public to remain calm as the command shall continue the onslaught against the hoodlums in the state and it further urged Nigerlites to report anyone with bullet wounds, or suspicious behavior to the nearest police division.

Biafra Nations League, BNL, said it has ordered its members to launch a reprisal attack on Fulani herdsmen following the recent killing of at least 15 people in Ebonyi State.
The killings took place Monday night in Nkalaha, Obegu, Amazu, Nkalagu and Umuhuali autonomous communities.
At least, 15 persons were reportedly killed during the attack allegedly carried out by some herders.
Addressing reporters in Ikom, Cross River State, Deputy National Leader of BNL, and Head of Operations, BBS Media, Ebuta Akor Takon, said, “Enough is enough.”

According to them, “We (have) ordered members and supporters of BNL in other parts of the old eastern region to mobilize and launch counter-attacks on them in less than five days.
“Any attack from them will surely be avenged until they are stopped by their parents bodies, the Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association.”
BNL queried why soldiers would be after pro-Biafra groups but have done nothing to stop the attacks on villages by alleged Fulani militants.

The Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Hussain, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Toto Local Government Area of the State.
The leader of the group was killed on Friday night alongside the chairman of the association, Mohammed Umar.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday morning by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ramham Nansel.
“On 2/4/2021 at about 7pm, information was received that unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits attacked and killed one Mohammed Hussaini, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Nasarawa State and Mohammed Umar, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Toto LGA at Garaku market.

“Upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bola Longe swiftly deployed Operation Puff Adder II personnel to the scene where the two corpses were recovered and taken to the hospital,” he said.
According to the statement, bodies of the deceased have been deposited in an undisclosed morgue by the command.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has mourned the late Spokesman of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin who died on Saturday morning.
Keyamo in a tweet on Saturday said Yinka’s death was a personal loss to him.
Recall that the human rights activist reportedly died from COVID-19 complications.

The drama between pop star, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, and his fiancée and mother of his son, Chioma Rowland, aka Chef Chi, has continued to set tongues wagging on the Internet and offline.
On Friday (yesterday), Chef Chi practically deleted all the pictures of her child, Ifeanyi’s daddy, Davido, from her Instagram page, leaving only one displaying the DMW boss with their son. This comes amidst speculations that the relationship between the couple is no longer as rosy as it used to be. Recall that in 2020, the duo had ‘unfollowed’ each other on Instagram and that action generated a whirlwind of reactions. However, they later resumed ‘following’ each other, which made many speculate that the ‘unfollowing’ was a publicity stunt.
During the week, a picture of Davido kissing an American Instagram model, Mya Yafai, had gone viral.
For months now, Davido had been rumored to be in a relationship with Yafai and different pictures of the two of them together have gone viral on the Internet. The model was said to have spent the Christmas and New Year holidays with Davido in Nigeria and Ghana. The duo was also seen holding hands at a beach house sometime in February.

The Spokesman for pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere,  Mr Yinka Odumakin, has died of COVID-19.
Odumakin, it was learnt, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital isolation centre.
His wife, Mrs Joe Okei-Odumakin, confirmed this to newsmen.
Our correspondent was told that a delegation of Yoruba leaders were on their way to the residence of Afenifere leader, Ayo Adebanjo, to break the news to him.

The wife said, “A part of me is gone. A part of me is gone. He fought hard at the intensive care unit. Pray for me to survive this. My love is gone.
“He was OK before. Even on March 10 he was still attending meetings. He was recovering yesterday but he died this morning. I am at the intensive care unit. A part of me is gone.”

South-West State chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have dared the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to dump the party, after he warned the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party against postponing the South-West congress of the party.
PDP had fixed April 10 for the event to hold in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
However, Makinde, in a statement issued by his media aide, Taiwo Adisa, warned the NWC against bowing to pressure to postpone the congress, saying such would be resisted.
Makinde urged the NWC to rise to its responsibilities and prevail on the person or persons who are “acting as clogs in the wheel of the party’s progress.”

But the Chairman of the South-West PDP Chairmen, Dr Sikirulai Ogundele, in a statement released on behalf of PDP chairmen in Ekiti, Lagos and Osun states – Otunba Bisi Kolawole, Adedeji Doherty and Sunday Bisi, respectively – has noted that it is shocking that Makinde could insult “the custodians of the party just because they chose to obey an order of the court.”
The statement read in part, “Who cares if he chooses to leave the PDP this time, too? Is he not even already a sinking ship in Oyo State, placing members of the SDP and ADC (Action Democratic Congress) over and above those of the PDP?
“Without apologies, Governor Makinde can do his worse. He should stop threatening the party because he is not more a loyal and committed member of the party than people like us who stood by the party when he left.”

Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari has the right to travel abroad for medical consultation.
Ngige said this while reacting to the backlash that welcomed the President’s trip to London on Thursday.
Recall that Nigerians had expressed mixed feelings over Buhari’s trip to London for medical check-up, especially with the growing insecurity in the country and the nationwide strike embarked upon by members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
Some Nigerians had claimed the President’s trip is coming at a time he is needed on ground to oversee the myriad of challenges facing the country.

Reacting, Ngige told Channels TV that Buhari has been visiting his doctor in London for a second opinion for over 40 years and cannot stop because he is now a President.

“I, as little as I am, I go abroad for second opinion for my health, even though I don’t have any underlying disease.

The IDFP raised these issues in a communique issued after a webinar with the theme, ‘Kidnapping and Armed banditry: Role of government and religious leaders in addressing these challenges’.
The event, attended by over 80 religious leaders mainly of Muslims and Christians, was anchored and moderated by the IDFP Co-Publicity Secretary, Dr. Uzoaku Williams and the Project Officer, Hajiya Lantana Abdullahi.

According to a communique obtained by newsmen on Friday, the IDFP also suggested that the government should carry out a structural adjustment in the Nigerian Police System.
The communique read, “In a country with over 200 million people, there should be at least one million security personnel. The government should provide security personnel for intelligence gathering as well as provide a formidable police force.
“Government should provide security for the protection of life and properties. They should check the proliferation of weapons and also secure our porous borders.
“The government should refocus the nation’s educational system to ensure that it is a priority. Education should be affordable and available to all. Our curriculum should be adjusted; the style should move away from cramming to holistic learning. Most importantly, teachers should be made to concentrate in schools as most of them are now traders due to inadequate funds.”
The IDFP also urged the government to ensure that workers’ salaries, pension, and gratuity were paid as and when due and look at the socio-political and economic sphere of the nation and do things right. 
The organisation said, “Government should conduct credible elections across the country and God-fearing people should be elected into offices; especially as Special Advisers so they can give the government good counsel.
“The judicial system should reformed, the country should be restructured for Justice.
“Religious leaders should look inwardly, purge themselves of every ill behaviour, stop singing the praises of a bad government and stop putting them in front rolls in our places of worship.
“Religious leaders should fund their meetings/churches/mosques themselves and not go to the government for help; if they do, they will not be able to constructively criticize the government for positive changes.
“The government should stop making statements not backed with actions, they should keep to their promises. The ravishing lifestyle of religious leaders even more than the politicians should be checked.”
