Kevin De Bruyne netted an excellent winner as Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to move back to the top of the Premier League table.<br />

City dominated much of the game and were rewarded when De Bruyne found the back of the net in the second half to push his side ahead of Manchester United on goal difference at the table's summit.<br />
<br />
Chelsea had an early chance after three minutes with N'Golo Kante picking out Alvaro Morata in the middle, only for the striker to head just wide of the target.<br />
<br />
City could have had a goal shortly after when Gabriel Jesus charged down a poor Thibaut Courtois clearance, but luckily for Chelsea the ball flew over the bar.<br />
<br />
The visitors started to control proceedings and were denied by Courtois on the half-hour mark when the Chelsea keeper got down low to thwart David Silva at his near post.<br />
<br />
And the Chelsea No. 1 was called into action again on the stroke of half-time, this time saving Fernandinho's header from close range.<br />
<br />
City's dominance continued into the second half and on the 54th minute they could have edged ahead, but Raheem Sterling fired a loose ball on the edge of the box over the bar.<br />
<br />
Chelsea managed to create an opening on the hour-mark when a quick free kick found Eden Hazard unmarked in the box, but Ederson was on hand to tip away his effort at goal.<br />
<br />
The deadlock was finally broken in the 67th minute through City when De Bruyne received the ball on the edge of the area before firing a fine strike past Courtois and into the back of the net.<br />
<br />
City could have killed off the game late on when Gabriel volleyed Sterling's cross goalbound, but Antonio Rudiger was able to clear his effort off the line.<br />

Michelle Obama has a few candid words for women who chose to vote against Hillary Clinton in favour of Donald Trump in the 2016 election.<br />

The beloved former First Lady was clear and direct as she spoke on the topic during an appearance at the Inbound 2017 conference in Boston, where she expressed confusion at the choice of women who opted to vote in favour of Trump.<br />

“Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice,” she said.<br />
<br />
“What does it mean for us as women that we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, ‘That guy, he’s better for me, his voice is more true to me.’<br />
<br />
“Well, to me, that just says you don’t like your voice. You like the thing you’re told to like.”<br />
<br />
Mrs. Obama also weighed in on the job Donald Trump is doing as President, emphasising that at the end of the day, she hopes he is successful at his job and is treated better by his political peers than President Obama was during his two terms in office.<br />
<br />
“We want the sitting President to be successful because we live in this country,” she added.<br />
<br />
“He is our commander in chief, he was voted in. When you’ve been in that position, you see that most former (presidents) do take a step back, they do let the current holder of the office lead.<br />
<br />
“You do step up when you’re asked, and you do try to make sure what you say is constructive.<br />
<br />
“Now, like I said, there was a whole party that didn’t do that for my husband, a whole political party that did not, but what we’ve learned as part of our legacy is leading with grace.”<br />
<br />
Lastly, Mrs. Obama noted that despite consistent opposition from the GOP during his entire time in office, President Barack Obama will never stoop to the same low measures as Trump now that the shoe is on the other foot.<br />
<br />
“Barack is not going to turn into what this President was, which is somebody tweeting in the wind and stirring up mess without really knowing what they’re talking about.”

In truth, the visitors never looked like recovering from the wind being knocked out of their sails within 150 seconds on a damp September afternoon.<br />

Young, just as he did from left-back at Southampton last weekend, cut on to his right and swung over a superb cross. This time it was Fellaini on the end of it, beating Wayne Hennessey with his far-post finish.<br />

Chris Smalling nodded a corner just wide and a Rashford strike hit a post via an apparent touch from Hennessey, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan getting away a volley before the welcome respite of half-time arrived for Palace.<br />

Just four minutes after play resumed, Palace conceded again as Rashford whipped in a dangerous free-kick met by a glancing header from Fellaini.<br />

The defending was inexplicably bad by the visitors, who attempted to recover as Jeffrey Schlupp appealed for a penalty and Sako dragged wide either side of a Young attempt.<br />

<b>Risk factors you can’t control</b><br />
<br />
Some things you just can’t help, such as: your age — most people with it are older than 50; polyps or inflammatory bowel disease, family history of colorectal cancer or precancerous colon polyps.<br />

Try to avoid these things that can raise your odds of getting the disease: eating a lot of red or processed meats, or those cooked at high temperatures; obesity (having too much fat around the waist); not exercising enough; smoking and heavy alcohol use.<br />

Tests that find colorectal cancer<br />
<br />
Screening tests are key to an early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Most people should have a colonoscopy every 10 years once they turn 50. This test uses a tube with a tiny camera to look at the whole colon and rectum. It can help prevent colorectal cancer by finding tumors early. Your doctor<br />
will then remove the polyps (as pictured here).<br />
<br />
<b>Virtual Colonoscopy</b><br />
<br />
This uses a CT scan to show a 3-D model of your colon. The test can show polyps or other problems without placing a camera inside your body. The main disadvantages are that the test can miss small polyps, and if your doctor does find some, you’ll still need a real colonoscopy. Your doctor may<br />
suggest a virtual colonoscopy once every 5 years.<br />
<br />
<b>Barium enema</b><br />
<br />
The barium enema is a kind of X-ray that gives the doctor a glimpse at the inside of your colon and rectum. It’s another way to find polyps, tumors, or other changes in your intestines. Seen here is a barium enema that shows an “apple core” tumor blocking the colon.<br />
Like in a virtual colonoscopy, doctors follow up on any unusual signs with a regular colonoscopy. Your doctor may suggest you have a barium enema once every 5 years.<br />
<br />
<b>Flexible Sigmoidoscopy</b><br />
<br />
Your doctor may recommend this test instead of a colonoscopy. He’ll use a slender tube to look inside your rectum and the bottom part of your colon. The tube has a light and a camera, and it shows polyps and cancer. If your doctor says this is the right test for you, you should get one every 5 years.<br />
<br />
<b>Fecal blood tests</b><br />
<br />
The fecal occult blood test and fecal immunochemical test can show whether you have blood in your stool, which can be a sign of cancer. You give two or three small samples of your stool to the doctor to study. Doctors typically recommend these tests every year. If your samples show signs of blood, you may need a colonoscopy.<br />
<br />
An at-home choice: DNA Test<br />
<br />
A new test called Cologuard looks for blood or suspicious DNA in your stool sample. The test is very accurate at finding colon cancer, but if it does, you still need to follow up with a colonoscopy.<br />
Cologuard can’t take the place of that exam. The American Cancer Society recommends getting a stool DNA test every three years.<br />
<br />
<b>The right diagnosis</b><br />
<br />
If a test shows a possible tumor, the next step is a biopsy. During the colonoscopy, your doctor takes out polyps and gets tissue samples from any parts of the colon that look suspicious. <b>The stages of colorectal cancer</b><br />
<br />
Experts “stage” any cancers they find; this a process they use to see how far the disease has spread. Higher stages mean you have a more serious case of cancer. Tumor size doesn’t always make a difference. Staging also helps your doctor decide what type of treatment you get.<br />
<br />
•Stage 0: Cancer is in the innermost lining of the colon or rectum.<br />
•Stage I: The disease has grown into the muscle layer of the colon or rectum.<br />
•Stage II: Cancer has grown into or through the outermost layer of the colon or rectum.<br />
•Stage III: It has spread to one or more lymph nodes in the area.<br />
•Stage IV: It has spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver, lungs, or bones.<br />
<br />
<b>Survival rates</b><br />
<br />
The outlook for your recovery depends on the stage of your cancer. You might hear your doctor talk about the “5-year survival rate.” That means the percentage of people who live 5 years or more after they’re diagnosed. Stage I has a 5-year survival rate of 87 to 92 per cent. But remember that those statistics can’t predict what will happen for everyone. Many things can affect your outlook with colorectal cancer, so ask your doctor what those numbers mean for you.<br />
<br />
<b>Can surgery help?</b><br />
<br />
Surgery has a very high cure rate in the early stages of colorectal cancer. In all but the last stage, doctors remove the tumors and surrounding tissue. If they are big, your doctor may need to take out an entire piece of your colon or rectum. If the disease affects your liver, lungs, or other organs, surgery probably won’t cure you. But it may help ease your symptoms.<br />
<b><br /></b><b>Fighting advanced cancer</b><br />
<br />
Colorectal cancer can still sometimes be cured even if it has spread to your lymph nodes (stage III). Treatment typically involves surgery and chemotherapy. Radiation therapy (shown here) is an option in some cases. If the disease comes back or spreads to other organs, it will probably be harder to cure. But radiation and chemotherapy may still ease your symptoms and help you live longer.<br />
<br />
<b>Will chemo make me feel bad?</b><br />
<br />
Newer chemotherapy drugs are less likely to make you sick. There are also medicines that can help you control your nausea.<br />
<br />
<b>Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)</b><br />
<br />
This treatment uses intense heat to burn away tumors. Guided by a CT scan, a doctor inserts a needle-like device into a tumor and the surrounding area. The procedure can destroy some tumors that can’t be surgically removed, like in the liver. Chemotherapy can work with RFA.<br />
<br />
<b>Prevent colorectal cancer with healthy habits</b><br />
<br />
You can take steps to dramatically lower your odds of getting the disease. Eat a nutritious diet, get enough exercise, and control your body fat. Those habits prevent 45 per cent of colorectal cancers.<br />
The American Cancer Society recommends a diet heavy on fruits and vegetables, light on processed and red meat, and with whole grains instead of refined grains. That will help you keep a healthy weight.<br />
<br />
<b>Prevent cancer with exercise</b><br />
<br />
Adults who stay active seem to have a powerful weapon against colorectal cancer. In one study, the most active people were 24 per cent less likely to have the disease than the least active. It didn’t matter whether what they did was work or play.<br />
<br />
The American Cancer Society recommends getting 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise, like brisk walking, or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise, like jogging. Try to spread your activity throughout the week.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Reacting, Nwaoboshi said, “I didn’t take a loan of N1.2bn. I challenge EFCC to show the documents that I Peter Nwaoboshi took a loan of N1.2 billion. The company in question has Nigerian and Chinese directors. It is a manufacturing company. They approached NEXIM bank to take a loan of N1.2 billion.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Because I know some of the directors, I excused myself from participating in the process in accordance with the law. It was the Deputy Governor of CBN who was the chairman of the board.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The minutes of the board meeting are there. I told the board to excuse me and they did. The company offered a security valued at N3.5 billion as collateral. The records are there.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The company in question provided documents verified by the bank that they were given a contract of N1.9 billion. The loan was for running cost, purchase of equipment and raw materials. This was verified by the bank. The bank went to Delta State and verified that the contract was given.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The tenure of the loan was for a period of five years. It means it will expire in 2019. The company domiciled the payment of that contract to NEXIM Bank and the Delta State Government has been paying the money into this account in the bank, including the one they paid just last week.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Where now lies the diversion. Even if the money was diverted without conceding, NEXIM Bank will return after five years and recover their money. Where now lies the offence?</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“For the records, the Delta State Government does not pay through the company. They pay directly to the bank. EFCC has written to Delta State Government and they have been told that no offence was committed.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The bank never complained to EFCC. EFCC on its own is pushing for this case because they think we are supporting some people. In any business I transact, I try as much as possible to move within the law. I am a free man, I am a lawmaker, I don’t break the law.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“I am a little bit hesitant to speak further on the matter because EFCC has not actually come out to say that they are behind the stories flying around. The facts are in NEXIM Bank. The Profoma invoice for the execution of thee contract is in the bank; they are verifiable.</div>

The Reebok Stadium was built in 1997 but renamed in 2014 after Macron signed a naming rights deal with Bolton Wanderers. It is in celebration of the ground’s 20th anniversary that the poll was organised.<br />

The National coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, Saturday alleged that All Progressives Congress, APC quest to southeast was to ruin Igbo the same way they annihilated the Nigeria economy.<br />

He said this while reacting to a viral picture of the APC gubernatorial candidate’s supporters, Tony Nwoye, caught drinking to stupor, noting that such act was an evidence of his assertion that Nwoye is on a dark mission, which is “to ruin the future of Anambra youths by using them for thuggery and other uncivilized acts.<br />

Obigwe in a statement issued lampooned Nwoye’s campaign spokesman over a statement credited to him that ‘APC will erase Governor Obiano’s performance in Anambra State’ thus drew the attention of the people of state to such an inconceivable and condemnable comment.<br />

According to him, “APC is conglomerates of destroyers whose aim is to destroy Igbo the way they destroyed Nigeria economy.<br />

He equally stated that as at 2015 Nigeria external debt grew from 10.3billion dollars to 15billion dollar which was a testament of bad government.<br />

Obigwe further opined that the inability of Federal government to fund the 2017 budget was trajectory to her bad economic policies which the Southeast APC leaders should bury their heads in shame.<br />

He said that the people of Anambra State are solidly behind Governor Obiano and will resist the importation of APC obnoxious and impoverished policies through Tony Nwoye to Anambra State.<br />

However, he commended Ogbaru traditional rulers for rejecting the misguided ambition of their Son Oseloka Obaze and also said that such courageous and commendable act is a proof that they want the progress and betterment of Anambra State.<br />

Obigwe also commended a teacher from Central School Abagana for winning best teacher of the year 2017 award in Nigeria.<br />
<br />
He said that the award is a proof of excellence in the educational sector under Governor Obiano’s watch. He referred to the award as a masterstroke to masters of falsehood concoction.<br />
<br />
Obigwe finally advised the people of Anambra State to vote for Obiano because he is the best among the candidates contesting the November 18th election, noting that a vote for Obiano is a vote for more success to the State and more dividends of good governance delivery.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Oloyede told Punch: “Some of the institutions do not know the implication of what we are doing. For example, if the University of Ibadan says its cut-off mark is 200, it cannot come back and say it wants to admit people that scored 180. But some are now coming back to say they have what they call affiliates and that those affiliates can take less than 200.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“I said ‘no’ because the certificate you are going to issue to students from those affiliates will be your school’s certificate, you are not going to write College of Education, Osiele campus, for instance, on the certificates. So your standard must be your standard.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“While they declared openly a particular cut-off mark, they are now putting pressure on JAMB to allow their affiliates, to which the certificates of their institution will be issued, to admit below that cut-off mark. That is the problem we have now.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Some want to use a cut-off mark that is less than what was declared and I said no, they have to wait till next year before they declare something else. This year, what you have declared is your cut-off mark and it applies not only to the main campus but all your affiliates and campuses that will be issued the certificate of that institution.”</div>

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Saturday felicitated with Nigerians on the 57th Independence anniversary with a charge on Nigerians to work against violence and all threats to the corporate existence of the country.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has ordered all Telecoms Operators in the country to give a 14-day grace for subscribers to exhaust their remaining data after the 30 days expiration period.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Ms. Hellen Obi, who represented the Executive Vice Chairman NCC, Professor Umar Danbata, stated this yesterday, in Minna, the Niger State capital at the Consumers Conversation Forum.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The event was organised by the NCC to sensitise consumers on the need to follow the right channel in resolving issues with their service providers.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“NCC has mandated all network providers to give their subscribers 14 days of grace after the 30 days expiration of their data if they still have data left and cannot recharge to get their data rolled over,” she stated.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Obi declared 2017 as NCC Telecom Consumer year as a result of the consumer’s importance to the growth and development of the telecom industry.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">She added: “The commission which is the independent regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria declared Year 2017 as NCC year of the telecom consumer in recognition of the importance of the consumer to the phenomenal growth and development in the telecoms sector.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The year of telecom consumer, which was formally launched by NCC Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Danbata, is in tandem with the 8-point Agenda of the commission aimed to protect, educate, and empower consumers towards ensuring sustainable growth and further development in the Telecom sector.’’</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Obi explained that the consumer conversation was designed to educate and inform consumers about their rights and privileges with their service providers.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The commission also articulated four strategic initiatives as key drivers of the Consumer Conversation including “Do-Not-Disturb” (DND) Service across all telecom networks, a service, which enables the consumer to stop receiving unwanted and unsolicited messages from telecom operators.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“What the woman did was not good. Although she is entitled to her own opinion, and has the right to support any candidate of her choice, but it is not possible to serve two masters at the same time”, he told Sun.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“This woman is still in Buhari’s cabinet, but now she is openly declaring her loyalty to Atiku, what does that tell us? That’s complete disloyalty. She should have been given the red card. I even expect her to have resigned before being fired. I don’t know what she is still doing in Buhari’s cabinet. She should resign honorably.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“What Nigerians or even members of Buhari’s cabinet and Mr President may not know is this; Jumai Al-Hassan has become a big security risk to Buhari’s administration. She should go.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The danger of retaining her or allowing her to still hang on Buhari’s cabinet is that for the administration, there is hardly any secret that can be kept again because the possibility is that anything discussed at the cabinet or the caucus meetings, Jumai Al-Hassan can go and reveal it to her godfather, Atiku, especially where matters affecting Atiku’s interests are involved.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Al-Hassan should be sacked because she can no longer be trusted especially where issues involving Atiku and Buhari are at stake.”</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Tsav also gave his opinion on the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“The war against corruption is going on fine. Unlike before, fear of Buhari has now made Nigerians wary of corrupt practices. They know that if they get caught, they will face the music.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“But my worry is that this war against corruption seems to be selective. So far what we have been seeing is the arraignment of more PDP people while APC members are hardly touched.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Corruption involves everybody; It should not be seen as if members of President Buhari’s party, APC are being spared. What we are witnessing now is that when some politicians are put on trial for corruption, it would look as if the trial is going to be pursued to a logical conclusion but the moment such politicians defect or decamp to APC, that’s the end of the trial.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">“Are they even telling us that APC members are not corrupt, especially those of them that decamped from PDP to APC? The only difference between APC and PDP is Buhari. The moment you remove Buhari, APC and PDP are the same. The moment you remove Buhari from APC, then APC and PDP are the same.”</div>
