It is only God that enthrones a king, I am a testimony to that.</p> <p>“We also have many councillorship aspirants. But, I learnt that some people went to court in my own local government. I am not happy with that development. I’m not happy.</p> <p>“Anybody who goes to court should go and withdraw the case immediately. It is anti-party. Anybody who goes to court will be sent out of the party. There must be discipline in this party.”</p> <p>Speaking further, the governor assured the aspirants in Ikenne of appointments, saying: “All those who were not picked as candidates, I am assuring you that the serious ones among them will be given appointments by me your governor; if not at the local government, I will give them appointments in Abeokuta. After that promise, I don’t want to hear any crisis in this local government again,” Abiodun emphasised.</p> <p>It was gathered that a councillorship aspirant in Iperu Ward 5, Muyiwa Osularu, had gone to Sagamu High Court, claiming that after winning the primary election, his name was replaced with that of the Vice-Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Ikenne Local Government, Hon Efuwape Olaitan Muhammed.</p> <p>Recall that a court bailiff, who was in Iperu to serve the court summons on Efuwape, was beaten to a pulp by some APC members in Government Abiodun’s hometown.</p> <p>The governor is yet to react to the incident, even as the police said the incident is being investigated by Iperu division.</p>

So if you tested PDP and you discovered that they delivered, why not test them again. You can’t change the winning team,” he added.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>On the insecurity and divisions that pervades the nation, the governor noted that with all sincerity without sounding partisan, his party being a bridge builder will unite the whole country to bring the desired peace and unity.</p> <p>According to him, “once we come back, we will unite the country because we are bridge builders, we will build back the economy of Nigeria.”</p> <p>When further asked on what the people of his state told him to do in 2023, the governor simply, “my people told me to vote PDP in 2023 and that’s all.</p> <p>“So all I can advise Nigeria and Nigerians is that in 2023, with all amount of sincerity, without sounding partisan in nature, is that they should all vote PDP, let’s return to PDP.”</p>

Stephen stated that Iyiegbu asked him to make a chain worth $100,000.</p> <p>Socialist, Pretty Mike, has now claimed Obi Cubana had been planning the burial ceremony for his mother for a long time.</p> <p>Via his Insta stories, Pretty Mike wrote, ”I remember when Obi’s wife’s father died some months back. We came for the burial. It was nothing short of a carnival. I asked him so why wait till July to bury your mum. He said let’s keep her on ice for now. She has to go out gloriously, she deserves it. I said bros stop being humble. We have made several efforts through our lawyer to see him, all to no avail. My brother should be given access to his own private doctor. It is our stand and position.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>“Maybe they intend to kill him, because I don’t know why they would not allow us access to see him. As we speak, some legal steps are being taken as we don’t believe in the judicial process here, but we will do what we can.”</p> <p>Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, has insisted there will be no trial for the Biafra agitator.</p> <p>Ejimakor explained that no trial would be held due to the manner in which Kanu was rearrested and repatriated to Nigeria.</p>

Before now, kidnapping was an occurrence on Abuja road but right now, it has moved to Southern Kaduna.</p> <p>“People cannot sleep with their eyes closed, we are scared of going to Kaduna. Just recently, my cousin was kidnapped, we had to pay ransom before he was released; we couldn’t sleep.</p> <p>“What is happening? And our governor does not even have sympathy for our plight as a people. This carnage must stop, enough is this.</p> <p>“We are calling the attention of the international community to this. Our government is sleeping, something must be done.</p> <p>“We call on all Nigerians to speak up against this. It started in Southern Kaduna, it can reach your doorstep tomorrow.”</p> <p>“Right now, there is a protest going on and you can see security men all over but when there is killing, kidnapping, you won’t see any of them. Already, parents are wary of sending their kids to school. Insecurity has not gone worse like this since 1999.</p> <p>“Since we gained independence, and civil war, there’s no moment scarier than what we have now, Oyinlola added.</p> <p>Oyinlola also revealed that one of the conditions tabled before Buhari, before he was elected, was restructuring.</p> <p>Oyinlola said he was saddened that Buhari claimed not to understand “restructuring” when interviewed.</p> <p>He said: “One of the policies we sold to the South was restructuring but it was shocking that in an interview, the President said he didn’t know the meaning of restructuring. May God forgive us and have mercy because this was contrary to what we envisaged.”</p> <p>Oyinlola added that: “Our style of government before the military took over was federalism. In those days, the South-West, the South-East and the North did their own things separately and whatever resources they got, they sent to the centre. Education, electricity, water and the rest were provided by the regional governments and they were doing well for their people.</p> <p>“But now, we can’t eat or drink until we get to Abuja. Buhari’s administration does not align with the rules that govern a democracy.</p> <p>Oyinlola also accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of nepotism</p> <p>“We are all one but when government’s policies, appointments and others tilt to one region of the country, there is no way other regions will not be disgruntled.”</p> <p>“We are one in this country, but it’s sad that some people from certain tribes are being pampered and handled with kid gloves while others get unruly treatment. As it is now if we can’t progress together as a country, it’s better we go our separate ways.</p> <p>“It is better that we go back to our own regional government; then little was expected from the Federal Government but now even state allocations are determined by the Federal Government. This style is no longer favorable to us; so, it’s better we go our separate ways.”</p>

Sarafa Isola met with eminent Yoruba leaders and Ohaneze Ndigbo in London on Friday to dialogue on current agitations and security issues in Nigeria.</p> <p>The minutes of the meetings, which took place at the Nigerian High Commission office, were e-mailed to newsmen on Saturday.</p> <p>According to the minutes, the dialogue centered on the efforts of the Federal Government to tackle internal security in Africa’s most populous country, which has been plagued by insecurity in recent years.</p> <p>The Yoruba and Igbo leaders at the meeting reiterated their beliefs in the unity of Nigeria and the need to preserve it as a corporate entity.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>The Igbo leaders called for the enthronement of equity, justice and fairness in the country, where the Igbo would be accorded their rightful position in the Nigeria project.</p> <p>On their part, the Yoruba leaders also spoke on the need for Nigerian unity, adding that the Yoruba people would continue to remain in Nigeria.</p> <p>They, however, demanded that power should evolve to the various components of the federation through restructuring and federalism.</p> <p>They reiterated the need for true federalism as canvassed by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a position the sage held until his death. </p> <p>However, the Yoruba leaders were led to the meeting by Chief Adebayo Oladimeji, a Chartered Biologist and Chairman of Nigerian Elders in the UK.</p> <p>The Ohaneze team was led by the President of the group in the UK, Dr Nnanna Igwe, a medical practitioner.</p> <p>Both parties also stressed the need for dialogue and continuous engagement on matters of concern to all Nigerians, particularly those in the UK.</p>

The fleeing hoodlums were said to have escaped through Ayete.</p> <p>The Secretary of Farmers Union, Mr Taiwo Adeagbo, who is popularly known as Akowe Agbe, also alleged that the attackers wore military uniforms.</p> <p>Adeagbo said, “The attackers wore military uniforms. They opened fire on those they met when they entered the town. They shot for some minutes and before the hunters could get to where they were, they had fled.”</p> <p>A resident of Ayete, who identified himself as Kamaru, also told newsmen that the fleeing hoodlums met a motorcycle spare parts dealer on the road at Ayete and shot him to death.</p> <p>He said, “The gunmen invaded Igangan again this evening (Friday) and killed some persons there. But we don’t know the actual number of those killed yet. They entered Ibarapa through Igangan, shot and killed some persons they met on the road. They wore Customs uniforms, so most people would not suspect they were criminals.</p> <p>“They also killed somebody here in Ayete before they escaped. But our people are pursuing them and they are likely to catch up with them. I heard that they did not go straight but veered into a path but that road is not smooth.</p> <p>“We later heard that they abandoned one of their vehicles and fled on foot into the forest. But we are living in fear now because we don’t know when they will strike again.”</p> <p>The Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress in Oyo State, Mr Rotimi Olumo, also said his members in Ibarapa told him that the attackers wore Customs uniforms and killed one person in Igangan, one person in Ayete and a member of the Amotekun Corps at Igboora.</p> <p>He said, “I issued a release about five days ago that the government should beef up security in the area. We heard that they would attack them before Eid-el Kabir or on Sallah Day. Now, they have killed one person in Igangan, they killed another one in Ayete and killed another one at Igboora.</p> <p>“I am receiving a briefing from our members there from time to time. The last one they shot dead at Igboora was said to be an Amotekun officer.”</p> <p>The Commandant of the Amotekun in Oyo State, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd), could not be reached to comment on the attack. Repeated calls to his number indicated that it was engaged.</p> <p>The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Adewale Osifeso, when contacted, told one of our correspondents that he would confirm it and return the call. But he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.</p> <p>Recall that suspected herdsmen had in June invaded Igangan where they set vehicles and houses ablaze, including the palace of the Asigangan of Igangan.</p>

It was not long ago that a mosque in Iwo Road was marked for demolition by the same administration.”</p> <p>They said that by marking mosques for demolition and seizing praying ground belonging to Muslims, the governor is telling Muslims in general that they are insignificant.</p> <p>“Governor Makinde should mark our words, Bodija Muslim praying ground has become sacred land and converting it to any worldly use is sacrilegious. We say this with all seriousness,” MURIC said.</p> <p>They said the Governor’s alleged actions against Muslims amounted to challenging his creator by seizing the very property on which His Name is called.</p> <p>“In addition, it is our hope that we are not witnessing a systematic, well-rehearsed and gradual elimination of Islamic landmarks in Oyo State,” the group said.</p>

Baba, on behalf of the Comptroller General and was copied to all zonal controllers and control posts nationwide.</p> <p>“I am directed to request that you kindly place the above-named person on stop-list. Credible intelligence revealed that Adeyemo is making efforts to obtain a police extract and/or court affidavit to enable him acquire a new Nigerian passport, apparently to facilitate his escape out of the country,” it reads.</p> <p>“In addition, he should be arrested wherever and whenever sighted and referred to the Director-General, Department of State Services vide letter no: S.605/A/246 dated 05 July 2021.”</p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKNnnVP05yH0Nnhtdwlec-65RKbpihuXd4L3ZhDGzaEaGtb05hY7hrR0KqaT0K18U7eDgZAJE2RSS77ovUvGpVOugMGlNPKhrfXqt4vAS5xFoXIxzbEY2iYN9M1aj7ULJdvUH8229aVe4/s414/8CFC2D86-1496-4785-9CD4-ECDB2CC818EB.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="362" data-original-width="414" height="350" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKNnnVP05yH0Nnhtdwlec-65RKbpihuXd4L3ZhDGzaEaGtb05hY7hrR0KqaT0K18U7eDgZAJE2RSS77ovUvGpVOugMGlNPKhrfXqt4vAS5xFoXIxzbEY2iYN9M1aj7ULJdvUH8229aVe4/w400-h350/8CFC2D86-1496-4785-9CD4-ECDB2CC818EB.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div> <p><br /></p> <p>In a dramatic u-turn, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday in Abuja withdrew Zamfara Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mahadi Aliyu Gusau from a suit seeking to unseat him and his principal, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, at the Federal High Court over alleged unlawful defection.</p> <p>The party had earlier slated Gusau for removal from office as the deputy governor of the state over the same issue.</p> <p>However, on Friday, PDP lead counsel, Kanu Agabi SAN applied for withdrawal of the deputy governor’s name on the ground that there was no evidence of defection from him</p> <p>In a motion to that effect, PDP also formally took over the case as the first plaintiff on the ground that the mandate being contested belonged to it.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>Following no objections from other lawyers in the matter, Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo ordered removal of the deputy governor’s name.</p> <p>The judge also ordered that PDP be made the plaintiff and directed the party to amend and file all its processes within seven days.</p> <p>He subsequently fixed September 29, 2021 for mention into the suit.</p> <p>At Friday proceedings, Matawalle was represented by a legal luminary, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN while another legal giant, Alhaji Ahmed Raji SAN stood for the APC.</p> <p>Another Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Tanimu Inuwa represented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).</p> <p>At the Federal High Court being used as a battleground, the party asked the court to sack the Governor over his unlawful defection from PDP to the APC.</p> <p>The request forms part of the reliefs being sought in a suit, marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/489/2021 earlier filed in the names of two PDP members from Zamfara State, Alhaji Sani Kaura Ahmed and Abubakar Muhammed.</p> <p>The plaintiffs are contending that, in view of an earlier judgment of the Supreme Court, to the effect that the APC had no candidates in the 2019 governorship election in the state, having not conducted valid primaries, it would be unlawful for Matawalle to retain his office while defecting from the PDP to the APC, and thereby transferring PDP’s victory to the APC.</p> <p>They want the court to, among others, declare that Matawalle must resign from his office before his defection to allow INEC to conduct fresh election, within three months, for the PDP to replace them.</p> <p>Last Monday when the legal battle was kickstarted through an ex-parte motion argued by the plaintiffs lawyer, Kanu Agabi (SAN), Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo granted an order of substituted service of the originating processes on the Governor through APC national secretariat.</p> <p>The governor had two weeks ago defected from PDP to APC which prompted the move by PDP to claim its mandates from him through court action.</p>

A. Nganjiwa after hearing from Okoye’s lawyers, B. O Okpemandu and Oge Nwankwo, refused to grant the reliefs sought.</p> <p>The judge said “the plaintiff/applicant is asked to put the defendants on notice and they should come and show cause why this order should not be granted pending the hearing and determination of the originating summons.</p> <p>“The originating summons and order of court be served on all the defendants. In view of the provisions of Section 87 (10) of the Electoral Act, 2010, it is hereby ordered that the parties to maintain status quo in the interest of justice pending the hearing and determination of originating summons.”</p> <p>The matter was adjourned to July 19, 2021.</p>

The foretelling was credited to Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, in Lagos.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>“The Prophet gave the date and time of Nigeria’s unraveling as between 2035 and 2040. A person who wants to give you a fib would say his witness is in Heaven. How many people living now would still be alive in 2035 or 2040? Are we even sure of tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year, except by the mercies of God?</p> <p>“And then, why is it always negative, negative, negative prophecies all the time? We are admonished not to despise prophesying (1 Thessalonians 5:20) but then, “by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet, he was preserved.” (Hosea 12:13). Prophecies are for our comfort, edification, preservation, not something to frighten the living daylights out of us and have us on tenterhooks all the days of our life. When you see someone indulging in negatives, run far. To thy tents oh Israel.</p> <p>“I know Primate Ayodele. I have been a special guest in his church when I was Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspapers. He does great things in terms of welfare for his flock. He empowers them with cash and materials they can use to set up themselves gainfully. I was impressed with that. But the prophetic aspect?</p> <p>Let’s look at all these facts: in the build-up to the 2015 presidential elections, Primate Ayodele said Goodluck Jonathan would win. The man lost. He said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would take Kaduna by a narrow margin. Nasir el-Rufai of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won. Again, he said Yobe, Gombe, Benue, Delta, and the Akwa Ibom States would be won by PDP. The APC won three of those States. Who hit the crossbar? You know the answer.</p> <p>“PDP will shock APC in Lagos. It didn’t happen. Boko Haram would bomb South West. Mercifully, it didn’t happen. APC would break, Buhari won’t do second term. You know the truth. And in 2017, when the President was on medical vacation abroad for many months, he said the seat was vacant, and the man would never return. You now know who didn’t speak the truth, who didn’t hear from God.</p> <p>“The Book, that Good Book, tells us how we know a false prophet from a genuine one. The false says something, and it does not come to pass. And he continues to strut and fret his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. His tales are full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.</p> <p>“Prophet Jonah was told to speak against Nineveh, that the city would be sacked, overthrown, because of their evil acts. Jonah fled to Tarshish instead, because he didn’t want to deliver a doomsday message. He ended in the belly of a whale, which vomited him at the shores of Nineveh. He made his pronouncements, and the people took warning. They repented in ashes and sackcloth, and God had mercy. He spared the city.</p> <p>“What did Jonah do next? He asked God to kill him because he knew the gravity of failed prophecies. But our modern-day prophets? They hit the crossbar severally, yet no compunction. No remorse. And worse still, some people continue to believe them.</p> <p>“Nigeria will survive, as long as people continue to call on the living God. Nineveh prayed, and God changed His mind about destroying the city. President Buhari has said those of them who were on the frontlines for 30 months during the Civil War would never fold their hands, and see Nigeria break. Rather than allow it, they would speak to the troublemakers “in the language they understand.” Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also says those advocating the country’s break-up are “idiotic.” Yes, we will always have people like Buhari and Obasanjo around. Nigeria will survive.</p> <p>“What am I saying? Don’t nations break? Where is the old Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and many others? Yes, those countries broke into splinters, but as for Nigeria, it would survive. Beyond 2035 and 2040, whether we are still here or not. And as long as patriots continue to lead the country.</p> <p>“But for Primate Ayodele, let him focus on touching lives through preaching the gospel, and empowering of many people. It has great gains now and in eternity.”</p>

Those of you wanting to monitor his trial or wishing him fair trial, thank you.</p> <p>“But sorry to disappoint you: There won’t be any trial. Never. If any trial occurs, it’s those that renditioned him that will be on trial.”</p> <p>Kanu was recently rearrested and repatriated to Nigeria.</p> <p>The IPOB leader was brought back to Nigeria to continue his trial for treason before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.</p> <p>Though the Nigerian government has been silent over country Kanu was rearrested, but his family claimed he was nabbed in Kenya.</p> <p>The IPOB leader had claimed that the Nigerian government had linked him to Islamic terrorist group, Al-Shabab, while giving details of his capture.</p>

The Ojude Oba Festival is normally held two days after the Eid-el Kabir (Ileya).</p> <p>In his message to the Ijebu nation on the occasion of the 2021 Eid-el Kabir (10th of Dhul-Hijja 1442 AH), the monarch thanked his subjects for the peace, progress, and tranquillity pervading Ijebuland.</p> <p>He prayed for additional economic and social prosperity within Ijebuland and charged his people to remain resolute and be optimistic that sooner than later, Ijebu State would become a reality.</p> <p>Oba Adetona further charged his people and visitors to Ijebuland during and after the festival to ensure they wear their nose masks, wash their hands regularly with soap, keep social and physical distances at public places, get vaccinated against the pandemic, and adhere to other medical protocols as directed by the federal, state, and local government authorities.</p> <p>The Awujale thanked all the sponsors of the festival for the mutually beneficial partnerships that have ensured the unparalleled success of the annual festival in the past, while also hoping that the 2022 edition would be a reality.</p> <p>He further thanked his subjects for their unflinching love, affection, loyalty, and solidarity in his sixty-one years on the throne as Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.</p> <p>Chief Yusuf disclosed that whilst the monarch regrets that COVID-19 would not allow him to host his usual guests and visitors, he assures all that he is in high spirit and will be celebrating the Eid-el Kabir with his family and very few others as dictated by medical protocols.</p> <p>Oba Adetona prayed for the return of peace and prosperity to all troubled areas of our great and beloved country, Nigeria.</p> <p>The Ojude Oba Festival is one of the biggest culture fiestas celebrated in the South-West region, attracting top multinationals as sponsors with culture enthusiasts attending from different parts of the world.</p>
