I am so thankful for Jimmy and Tobi.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Bimbo’s only son, actor Jimmy Odukoya, also reposted the conversation on his Instagram page on Saturday.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He wrote, ” A private conversation between my sisters and I as we spoke of my mum, the iconic Pastor Bimbo Odukoya on the day we lost her, December 10th. This is the 16th year without her.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“They say a mother’s love is always with her children. It shows commitment on our part.”</p> <span><a name='more' id="more"></a></span> <p><br /></p> <p>He said the demands of the union are realistic and holistic in the common interest of the country’s educational and developmental pursuits.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>” If nothing is done, we will be left with no choice than to withdraw our services until reason prevails,” he warned.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Professor Oyebamji said the Federal government has demonstrated its intention to embarrass the collective resolve of the union to save University education from total collapse and ASUU cannot succumb to this insensitive disposition.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He commended interventions of notable Nigerians on the matter but argued that, ” it is about actions and not deliberations,” adding that, “these are no new demands.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>ASUU, is demanding full implementation of the 2020 MoA agreement comprising funding for revitalisation of public universities, payment of earned academic allowances, withheld salaries and promotion arrears, renegotiation of 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, inconsistencies in IPPIS payment and University Transparency Accountability Solution, UTAS.</p>

We are all depressed, we are concerned, we are sad. In most cases, we whispered to governments at all levels about what to do to curtail insecurity, and where we have the opportunity, we make suggestions.”</p>

Sanusi Buba, in a statement made available by the spokesman of the command, Superintendent Gambo Isah, said the government has soft pedalled on the ban on sales of small ruminants such as goats and sheep in markets across the State.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Precisely, on the 31st of August, 2021, Governor Masari, considering the rising security challenges in the state, signed into law, a ‘Security Challenge Containment Order’ to address the menace.</p>

The order resulted in the investigation and arrest of Chiadikobi Nnaji.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The CP thanked members of the public, especially family members of the deceased as well as their well wishers for their various support which led to the arrest of the suspect. The CP also assures that the Command will always live up to expectation in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.”</p>

This was due to the inability of the Gboleru ruling house to present a candidate for the vacant stool.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The Ikirun kingmakers had gone ahead to approve the candidacy of Prince Yinusa Akadiri after the court ruling.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Gboleru ruling house approached another Osun High Court sitting in Ikirun and an exparte motion was granted for the government to stay execution on the approval of the process and subsequent announcement of Kadiri as the new Akinrun of Ikirun.</p>

He was the admin/accounts officer, as well as the parish pastor. I was not with him when he was killed, but I was told that they collected money from him. I heard that those who killed him were new converts.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>A family member, who is also a security expert, Mr Abolarinwa  Olatunbosun, told our correspondent on Wednesday that the pastor was killed after withdrawing money from a bank.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He said, “The pastor went to a bank to withdraw some money and went to rest on the first floor of the church. Two persons said to be new converts went to meet him upstairs, broke his head and killed him.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“The matter was reported to the police and one of the suspects, who ran to Ilorin, has been arrested.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Olatunbosun said the killing might be for ritual purposes, adding that the assailants were suspected Internet fraudsters, aka Yahoo boys.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The expert said criminals were beginning to attack churches and pastors because they believed there was money in church.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He advised religious centres to be security conscious and put in place strategies that could stop criminals from killing, kidnapping and robbing leaders and worshippers.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>A friend of the slain pastor, Fred Enemigin, who is the founder, Highflyers International, Lagos, said in a Facebook post that the pastor was stabbed multiple times.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>He wrote, “Two boys had come to church last Sunday and they responded to the altar call by giving their lives to Christ. After church service, they waited to see the head pastor and told him that they were stranded without any place to stay.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“On compassionate grounds, the pastor allowed them to stay somewhere within the church premises pending when they would be resettled. Pastor Tunde Dada, who had for almost a decade been the accountant of RCCG Chapel of Resurrection Parish, was assigned to provide needed welfare for the boys until their matter would be sorted.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“On the fateful Thursday, Tunde was seated in his office and the boys targeting that they were alone on the church premises with him, entered his office and attacked him with knives and other sharp weapons. He was stabbed multiple times and places until they had him killed right there on the spot.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Our minds are still searching for what the rift between the boys and Tunde was considering the fact that the Tunde we knew was a very gentle soul. Could they have asked for more welfare than what was approved for them and Tunde declined? What on earth would warrant this brutal killing by those who were recipients of a server of the church’s benevolence? There are many more questions that we have not found answers to.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said he had yet to be briefed about the case.</p>

Is it that you don’t know that 22 states in the country belong to APC?</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Is it that you don’t know that out of the 774 local government areas in the country, that the APC is controlling the majority? They are to meet within the week and then reply back before we take a final decision”.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>when asked if the union has fresh demands, Prof. Osodeke said, “we had raised about six items and we want the government to implement them.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“There are many issues we raised which the government has not addressed and until they do that, we are ready to take action”.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>It was reported that some of the major outstanding issues that are still lingering include, funding for revitalization of public universities, earned academic allowances, renegotiation of 2009 ASUU-FGN agreement, University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) promotion arrears, and the inconsistencies in IPPIS payment.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The Federal Government had during the 2020 prolonged strike agreed to implement the demands, leading to the suspension of the lecturers’ action.</p>

While we are grateful to God for seeing us through the different challenges we faced all these years, we believe it is time for reflective thinking and an opportunity to chart a new course, while being targeted in our quest for sustainable development.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“In the last five years, we have undertaken transformational reforms targeted at overhauling the civil/public service, which is the engine that drives government.</p> <span><a name='more' id="more"></a></span> <p><br /></p> <p>“We are undertaking fundamental reforms in healthcare; emplacing foundational changes in the education system, revamping moribund infrastructure, prioritising human capital development and fast-tracking programmes and initiatives to drive inclusive growth.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Noting that the 30-year development plan will drive sustainable socio-economic growth and development in the state over the next three decades, the governor said, “The last five years have been one of a battle to fix a disarticulated system by reintroducing the discipline and values of planning into government and governance process. That is, take the traffickers and their barons out of the picture. At that point, the officer seized the phone from her to stop the distraction but that didn’t stop the passenger who brought out another phone to record their encounter,” he said.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The statement assured aggrieved passengers and the public that the NDLEA is a law enforcement agency that upholds discipline among its officers and men, and as such will take further steps to investigate any other evidence made available in the course of the ongoing process.</p>

He has stooped to conquer. We should all join the historic march. MURIC will walk for peace with the governor. Lagos must not burn again,” the Islamic group said.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“He completed about 1,200 projects within two years. Of these, 1,000 are schools while some of the projects are renovative and others brand new construction works.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Today, it is only in Lagos State that primary health delivery centres are active in all the local governments in the state. Lagosians should honour the invitation of such a governor if he invites them.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“MURIC, therefore, implores Lagosians to troop out en masse for Sanwo-Olu’s peace walk.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“Religious leaders should not be found among trouble makers. Neither should they incite the populace against the system. This is where they belong.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>We charge Christian leaders and youth to join the governor’s peace walk. Let us join Governor Sanwo-Olu’s peace walk so that he can ‘guide our feet into the way of peace’.”</p>

This is why we didn’t rush out to respond to the cyber-stalking, name-calling and negative commentaries that have taken over the social media about our son’s alleged involvement in this sad incident.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>”Some of the true facts now slowly emerging from under the mass of lies are that: Our son, Adewale Michael Kashamu, had acted as a school father for the late Sylvester in his first session in the school at the request of Sylvester’s sister who is also a student of the school.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>“However, in the 2021 session which began in September 2021 Adewale Michael Kashamu was moved to a different floor in the boarding house and engrossed in his own studies and activities, our son was no longer as close to Sylvester as in the previous session.”</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The family condoled with the family of Late Sylvester Oromoni and appealed to all and sundry to hold their horses until the police and the Lagos State government have completed their independent investigations and established the truth.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Dowen College has been shut down indefinitely by the Lagos State government till investigation into Sylvester’s death is over.</p>
