It was interesting to see some new players because we had to manage the situation and we did well,” Rohr told the Super Eagles media team.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>“I think we had 17 shots on the goal while Cameroon only had three, they had only one on target which was the goal and we had six on target.</p> <p>“Like I said, the result is not the most important thing in a friendly, the most important thing is to learn, to see some interesting things, to test some new players and to see what we want to do in September for the World Cup qualifiers.</p> <p>“Our domination was not good enough because we had to score in the beginning of the game but we didn’t and when you don’t score you get punished.”</p>

Ndudi Elumelu.</p> <p>Elumelu in the statement said the government’s action to suspend the app was a clear violation of freedom of speech and other democratic rights and tenets as provided by the 1999 constitution as amended. </p> <p>The caucus said further that the government suspending Twitter shows smacks of intolerance, insensitivity, and aversion to the views, opinions and aspirations of Nigerian citizens, especially the youths, on matters of the state.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>“Our caucus rejects this thoughtless decision of the Federal Government which amounts to a clampdown and a direct infringement on the rights of Nigerians to free speech as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the statement reads.</p> <p>“It further shows the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration as one that is unwilling to listen to Nigerians but ready to use any means to suppress and subjugate its citizens.</p> <p>“The Minority Caucus is disturbed that the suspension of Twitter in the country came after the social media platform deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweets.</p> <p>“Such response by the Federal Government has raised further concerns over the APC-led administration’s disturbing rating on issues of political intolerance, abuse of rights and violation of rules in our country.</p> <p>“The minority caucus cautions that the development is capable of leading to further restiveness among Nigerians and worsen the situation in the country.”</p>

This is how to show that dictatorship won’t be tolerated.”</p> <p>The Nigerian Government had on Friday announced the suspension of Twitter in the country.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, disclosed the suspension at a press conference in Abuja.</p> <p>Mohammed had explained that the micro-blogging site was suspended because Nigerians were using the platform to carry out activities inimical to the corporate entity of Nigeria.</p> <p>The decision has drawn widespread backlash from Nigerians, with some accusing the government of inability to withstand criticism.</p>

This means it reroutes your request, bypassing network providers and your transactions can be monitored.</p> <p>Also, viruses and malware remain a threat, as most VPNs do not protect your device from viruses or malware.</p> <p>VPN will often slow your connection speed by 10-25% depending on the service, all thanks to encryption overhead.</p> <p>Probably the worst is that VPNs can supply your data to government authorities. Even if the provider promises not to sell the data, it is already a risk that the data is stored at all.</p>

How many has he wasted? How many has he killed? How many has he terrorised? But Allah left him alone and prolonged his life. When it was time, Allah set out brave soldiers after receiving orders from Amirul Muminin (leader of the believers).”</p> <p>ISWAP, which broke away from Shekau’s Boko Haram faction in 2016, disagreed with the late extremist leader over his excessive use of force, especially on Muslims in areas under his influence.</p> <p>He stated that the interim leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) ordered them to take action on Shekau for deviating and killing “believers.”</p> <p>ISWAP fighters then took their arms, travelled through the Sahara, went into Shekau’s enclave, and engaged in a gun battle with his followers.</p> <p>“Shekau preferred to be humiliated in the afterlife than getting humiliated on earth. He killed himself instantly by detonating an explosive,” he said.</p>

It was jointly signed by ALTON Chairman, Gbenga Adebayo; and ALTON Executive Secretary, Gbolahan Awonuga.</p> <p>It read, “We, The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria wish to confirm that our members have received formal instructions from the Nigerian Communications Commission, the industry regulator to suspend access to Twitter.</p> <p>“ALTON has conducted a robust assessment of the directive in accordance with internationally accepted principles. </p> <p>“Based on national interest provisions in the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003, and within the licence terms under which the industry operates; our members have acted in compliance with the directives of the Nigerian Communications Commission, the industry regulator.</p> <p>“We will continue to engage all the relevant authorities and stakeholders and will act as may be further directed by the NCC. We remain committed to supporting the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and upholding the rights of citizens.</p> <p>“As an industry, we endorse the position of the United Nations that the rights held by people offline must also be protected online. This includes respecting and protecting the rights of all people to communicate, to share information freely and responsibly, and to enjoy privacy and security regarding their data and their use of digital communications.”</p> <p>Aside from MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9Mobile, some of the Internet Service Providers in Nigeria include Spectranet, ipNX Nigeria Limited, Swift Networks Ltd., Vezeti Service LTD, Cyberspace Network Limited, Mobitel Limited, Smile Nigeria, ITClick Solutions Limited, and Netcom Africa.</p> <p>It was earlier reported that Twitter deleted a post by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday.</p> <p>Consequently, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who had accused Twitter of double standards, announced the suspension of the microblogging site on Friday, citing the “persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.</p> <p>Nigeria had about 33 million active social media users as of January 2021. WhatsApp is the most popular platform used in the country, with over 90 million users according to Statista. According to Statista, about 61.4 per cent of Nigerian social media users use Twitter, 86.2 per cent use Facebook, 81.6 per cent use YouTube, 73.1 per cent use Instagram, and 67.2 per cent use Facebook Messenger.</p>

God, please save us from President Buhari, ‘the Jonah in our ship’.</p> <p>“Those undermining the rights of Nigerians to freedom of expression should themselves not enjoy such right.</p> <p>“Therefore, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other Social media platforms should deactivate all accounts associated with @MBuhari and his government as done in Turkey in 2020 for us to have peace in Nigeria,” he wrote.</p> <p>Meanwhile, Micro blogging platform, Twitter, has finally shut down in Nigeria.</p> <p>It was observed that new tweets no longer pop up as the platform does not refresh anymore.</p>

The footage is generating comments and conspiracies on social media.</p> <p>There are speculations as to whether the aircraft was on an official mission amid the security challenges in the country.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>Apart from full military operations, the Navy collaborates with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).</p> <p>The Navy provides regular patrol and escort support for NIMASA in line with the mandate of their partnership.</p> <p>A source close to military chiefs said the chopper might have been on a trip legally assigned.</p> <p>“If the number starts with NN, it belongs to the Navy. My guess is there are pipelines in the area. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu.</p> <p>This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the group’s President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike and the Secretary-General, Comrade Obinna Achuonye.</p> <p>He alleged that there was a sinister plot to silence Mbaka for his recent outspokenness against the powers that be.</p> <p>Okwu warned that, “Mbaka’s life is so dear and precious to millions of Nigerians and for that nothing should happen to him.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>“We know that those after him have not given up, their next plan now will be to come for his life.”</p> <p>The group again came hard on the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga, accusing him of allowing himself to be used against his own priest.</p> <p>Okwu said, “Former Bishop Eneje in all his holiness took care of the adoration ministry and handed over to Bishop Gbuji, who continued in like manner, by treating Fr. Mbaka as a loving father.</p> <p>“But in the case of Bishop Onaga, it has been a different thing; We ask the Bishop- what is going on, why should you allow the adoration ministry to suffer unnecessarily in your own time?</p> <p>“The Bishop is busy doing atonement for the glasses broken at the hotel in the Bishop’s Court, but has there been any effort from him to remedy the broken hearts, souls of the poor masses who are beneficiaries of the adoration ministry and Fr. Mbaka’s charity? What of those in school on his charity and those who depend on him for their daily bread and daily spiritual nourishment, what of the poor masses?</p> <p>“The adoration ministry is now like a sheep without a shepherd, the tension continues to heighten, as the whole country is in crisis.”</p> <p>He urged the Bishop to consider millions of people affected by the 30 days punishment given to Fr. Mbaka, including orphans and the less-privileged.</p> <p>“Fr Emmanuel Obinna (Ebube Muonso) of Onitsha Archdiocese and Fr. Smart Nwosu of Nnewi Diocese and other catholic priests have in one way or the other blessed Mazi Nnamdi Nkanu, why is Fr. Mbaka’s own different?</p> <p>“Why is it difficult for Bishop Onaga to hands-off Mbaka and stop playing the card of the federal government and Princess who want to destroy the church and cause a crisis in Enugu,” he further claimed.</p>

In the absence of the board, our protest continues. Our elders have tried and we appreciate their intervention.</p> <p>“But we appeal to them to prevail on Akpabio and the Federal Government to quickly inaugurate this board. Our agitation is for justice, equity and fairness,” Igbiga stated.</p>

The documentary was aired in October 2019.</p> <p>Sanwo-Olu said the sanction had redeemed the reputation of the institution and now serves as deterrent to other members of staff.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>He spoke at the State House in Marina on Thursday at a meeting with members of the Federal Government Visitation Panel for UNILAG.</p> <p>The panel members were led by the chairman, Lt. Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff.</p> <p>“The school has maintained high discipline with lecturers who want to bring down the image and name of the school”, Sanwo-Olu said.</p> <p>The Lagos helmsman said the management had proven that nobody is above the law.</p> <p>“These are parts of the commendable steps which the school management has taken to ensure the standards are sustained.”</p> <p>Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to raise standards of education and academic research in Lagos.</p> <p>He assured that the Lagos government would fulfil its pledge to construct a standard jetty at the UNILAG waterfront.</p> <p>The governor mentioned the ongoing reconstruction work on St. Finbar’s Road and Iwaya Road, and other adjoining areas around UNILAG.</p> <p>In his remarks, Agwai described Sanwo-Olu as “education-friendly governor”.</p> <p>He said the panel was raised to carry out full assessment of UNILAG administration to know the challenges it is facing in delivering on its mandate.</p>

I have never seen anything like this in my 18 years of law practice.</p> <p>”The strike has forced us to go on compulsory holiday, litigants can not go to court to get the justice they deserve and the police cell is congested because suspects can not be brought to court.</p> <p>“Just as we are picking up from the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now this.</p> <p>”I barely have any money now, because the court is our workshop, we the litigation lawyers, now, this workshop is shut down since April 6.</p> <p>”For goodness sake, I have a family to provide for, I am a private practitioner and not on any salary. So how do I survive”?</p> <p>Also, Mr Joel Ali, another lawyer said the strike has caused untold hardship to counsel.</p> <p>“The hardship and helplessness suffered by many lawyers like me are capable of causing depression.</p> <p>“Imagine waking up each day without focus, without a schedule, without vision because what you are used to is no more there.</p> <p>“You can’t even reach out to anything tangible because things are getting tough every second. What is going on?’’ he asked.</p> <p>Sunday Idowu, who said he supports autonomy for the judiciary but things will not work like this.</p> <p>”Nothing can be achieved without orderliness, stability, progress or development that the judiciary gives.</p> <p>“Give this arm all tools to work, it will work and things will take a better and humanly shape, there will be progress and everyone will grow happily.</p> <p>“Now imagine the hardship and helplessness of a lawyer today, who cannot provide anything for our family. It is pitiful.</p> <p>He called on the government to be a little sensitive and show the humane angle in them to the many lawyers and other citizens going through different hardships.</p>

Fr. Alphonsus Bello, which was held at Our Lady of Apostle Catholic Church Independence Way in Kaduna.</p> <p>He noted that there was nowhere in the world where killings of human beings were so manifested as it was in Nigeria.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>Recall that the late Bello was kidnapped alongside Rev. Fr. Joseph Keke and murdered by bandits in Katsina on May 21.</p> <p>“Those who govern us are allowing this killing of citizens in their innocence because they have no blood in their hearts,” Kukah said.</p> <p>“There is nowhere citizens can be slaughtered in the whole world without the government showing empathy and concern.</p> <p>“The continuous barbaric slaughter and murder of our people in their innocency suggest that our beautiful Presidential Villa, National Assembly, government houses, are not evidence of civilization.</p> <p>“How did Nigeria come to this tragic situation? We know who they are, who they believe in and where their inspiration comes from. The government has never declared the kidnappers to be a terrorist group.</p> <p>“There is no ambiguity about those who are killing our people and why they are doing so and where their inspiration comes from. We hear and live with stories of complicity at the highest level. We as Christians can only rely on the faithful Word of God.”</p>

Thank God that the President was misrepresented, because I have seen news headlines that the President is not opposed to the ban on open grazing.</p> <p>We need to begin to look into what is best for us. Where we were 50 years ago should not be where we should be today and tomorrow.”</p> <p>He acknowledged that it might not be a one-day affair. He said: “It may not be but the process has to start and there must be a programme that must become evident, a programme in which we will begin to see actions being taken.”</p> <p>He warned that Nigeria’s growing food insecurity may soon spiral to a tipping point on account of the threat posed by open grazing of cattle. </p> <p>“Today, a lot of money is being spent by the Central Bank of Nigeria to encourage farmers to ensure that we are food sufficient but a lot of these efforts are lost, because of insecurity. Farmers can’t go to farm, their crops are destroyed, they are maimed and raped and some are even killed. We cannot continue like this, because if you have a programme you are spending billions on, we must secure it and we must ensure the food security of this country.”</p> <p>Okowa called for wholesale adoption of ranching given that, apart from safety issues, it is more beneficial for both cattle owners and herders.</p> <p>“Ranching obviously is the only way out as is happening in other climes and it’s not impossible in this place. In some parts of Taraba State, ranching has been on for so many years and we can actually create those ranches where the cattle will have more meat, more milk and then the children can actually afford to go to school”, he said.</p> <p>“We may not go into the big ranches but we can start in some form by acquiring some lands for that purpose and it may not be owned by individuals. Government can own the ranches where individuals can come and populate and pay some form of token”, the governor stated.</p> <p>“The voices for restructuring have been very strong out there. Why will somebody even criticise on restructuring? The only thing you need to know is that restructuring is of various facets, you only have to bring forth your arguments”, Okowa said as he spoke with selected journalists in Asaba.</p> <p>“His stand came against the backdrop of the criticisms of the Asaba Declaration by Abubakar Malami, Federal Attorney and Minister of Justice including Mallam Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman.</p> <p>“I actually thought that the voices who tend to criticise the meeting failed to have an understanding. People should learn to approach things after a very deep thought rather than just looking at the surface ,picking one thing and speaking about it.</p> <p>“We actually came in as state governors to reaffirm our belief in the Nigerian state and secondly we do also realise that there are things going on very wrongly and there was a need to address them”, the governor said.</p> <p>He had earlier called for the writing of a new constitution, not an amendment, to accommodate emerging issues of good governance and greater interest of Nigerians when he received on a courtesy visit, the Senate sub-committee on review of the 1999 Constitution led by Senator James Manager in Asaba.</p> <p>He told the committee that a new Constitution for the country had become imperative in view of observed inadequacies in the 1999 Constitution and called for the insertion of a clause to allow for the re-writing of the present Constitution while it would continue to be in operation until a new one was ready.</p> <p>“I believe that the southern governors’ meeting was in the best interest of this nation and not just the southern part of the country, because the voices of our people have continued to ring loud and ours was just to reflect their voice.</p> <p>“We first proclaimed as a people and as governors who run the various States in Southern Nigeria that we believe in the Federation and unity of this country because there has been a lot of voices on secession here and there”, Okowa stated.</p> <p>“There is nobody that has not talked about restructuring. Even the APC government constituted a restructuring committee headed by Nasir el-Rufai and they agreed that restructuring was inevitable. It has to be done. That is why we asked for the national dialogue so that we can sit down and look at the issues and agree together as a nation, as peoples of same nation on what and what will be needed and I think it is very important.</p> <p>“It is important and it will help to enhance the peace and recreate hope amongst our people that truly we are in a federation that is united in the best interest of the federating units. I don’t see why people will need to criticise that”</p> <p>On state police, Okowa said the way the federal police is structured “is such that they won’t be able to police this nation, it’s impossible. We are not saying that they are incompetent.</p> <p>“But when the police hierarchy is already calling for vigilantes, they are calling for state police. So the state police can be organized in such a manner that it assists the federal police, because the level of insecurity in this country now is too high and we need to do something about it.”</p>

There will be no excuse for failure. We will meet all of INEC’s demands.”</p>

We condemn this dangerous rhetoric and hate speech with all our hearts and minds and we are putting the World on notice that Muhammadu Buhari plans to carry out another pogrom against Ndigbo”.</p>

Benson Abounu confirmed this on Tuesday while addressing hundreds of residents who were displaced as a result of the attack.</p> <p>Abonu called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Sultan of Sokoto, Lamido of Adamawa and other opinion leaders in the North to caution Fulani herdsmen over the current genocide in the state.</p> <p>According to him, their intervention could deter them from carrying out further attacks and killings in the country.</p> <a name='more' id="more"></a> <p>The Ado Local Government council chairman, Hon. James Otse earlier said the armed herders attacked the community when the residents were fast asleep.</p> <p>He noted that the deadly attacks were carried out in four different communities which include, Ndobasi, Obakoto, Ndokem and Ataloga.</p> <p>It had reported that following the current unrest in Southeastern part of the country, the herdsmen hitherto grazing in the region, have invaded some communities in Benue.</p> <p>Ado Local Government is bordered by Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State where the herders recently launched deadly attacks.</p>
