Information Minister has again accused the media of under-reporting military successes.
This is the second time in three weeks the minister is making the allegations.
Mohammed spoke on insecurity in Nigeria at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum on Sunday.
He confirmed the country now has 10 Super Tucanos and informed that the remaining two will be delivered later this month.

The minister said the introduction of the platforms have made a lot of difference and changed to the dynamics of the war against terror.
He noted that in addition to the non-kinetic measures taken against bandits in the North-West, the armed turboprops have neutralized several enemies.
Mohammed said when criminals surrender, it is either they are overpowered or can no longer carry out their dastardly acts.
“They do not just surrender voluntarily. It is just that our media are not doing what they ought to be doing.
“What is expected of them is to probe that since the introduction of the Super Tucano, how many bandits have been killed, how many terrorists have surrendered?”
Mohammed reminded citizens that under former President Barrack Obama, the United States denied Nigeria the Super Tucanos.
“A lot of diplomacy went on before we got these ones”, the official disclosed.
Mohammed had in September, alleged that the media reported bandit attacks more than the victories recorded by security forces.
The minister made the comment in Katsina at a meeting with Governor Aminu Masari and stakeholders.
He insisted that the table is turning against outlaws since states took decisive actions alongside military’s kinetic approach.
”These positive efforts have not received the kind of media attention given to banditry,” the minister claimed.
But Mohammed’s claims according to analysts appear wrong as records show that media houses publish military’s achievements in the ongoing North-West and North-East operations.
NigerianEye had severally reported the elimination of bandits and terrorists in the north.
These include information from military sources and press releases by security spokespersons.

The Adamawa State Police Command says it has deployed operatives to restore order after youths attacked the Ngurore Police Station in Yola South Local Government Area and kidnapped two residents.
The police command stressed in a statement released Sunday morning that it moved into action as part of the ongoing coordinated efforts at restoring public order in Ngurore town and its environs.
It said that this followed “the unfortunate attack on Ngurore police station and House of Alhaji Umaru of Nasarawo B that resulted in the kidnap of Hawwa Umaru and her daughter in the early hours of Sunday.
The statement which was signed by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, ordered the deployment of additional operational assets to restore order.

The statement clarified the deployed assets as Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Crack squad and Anti-Kidnapping units.
“The Operational units are expected to carry out confidence-boosting patrols within the hotspots in coordinated operations with the gallant men on ground to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the culprits,” the police said.
It added that the Head of the Police Intervention Team, SP Babagana Abubakar, is already on ground coordinating Police investigative, operational and rescue responses.
“The CP calls on citizens to go about their businesses in the most peaceful and law abiding manner and report any suspicious person(s) around their neighborhoods to the police,” the statement said.

Nigeria’s Efe Ajagba has suffered the first professional defeat of his career, losing to Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez on Sunday morning.
Ajagba lost via a unanimous decision.
The judges scored the bout 97-92, 98-91, 98-91.
Ajagba had survived the whole duration of the fight to the 10th round.

The fight was an undercard event ahead of the heavyweight title trilogy showdown between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.
With the win in the 10-round bout, Sanchez remains undefeated and retains his WBO NABO, and WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight titles.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced 137 additional coronavirus infections with two deaths across eight states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The NCDC made the announcement via its website late on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 137 new cases indicate a decline from the 269 cases reported the previous day in the country.
The public health agency notes that the new infections have raised the total number of infections in the country to 207,616, stating that the country’s total death toll now stands at 2,745.

The centre noted that 195,132 cases had been cleared and discharged while 9,741 were still down with the disease across the country as at Oct. 9.
The NCDC added that Lagos State the epicentre of the disease was leading in the latest tally with 46 cases, followed by the FCT with 35 cases, while Kaduna State in the Northwest recorded 20 cases to rank third.
Benue recorded 13 cases, Oyo State, nine cases, followed by Kano State and Rivers with six cases each.
Ekiti State in the Southwest and Nasarawa State in the Northcentral announced a single case each.
It added that six states: Imo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto States reported that they recorded no cases on Oct. 9.
The public health agency noted also that Kano State reported a backlog of one death on Oct. 8.
The centre said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre activated at level 2 had continued to coordinate national response activities on the disease.
The NCDC that over 3,043,321 million samples of the virus from the nation’s roughly 200 million population had been tested.

Now Muzik, management of popular Nigerian singer, Tuface Idibia has reacted to allegation’s Brymo leveled against the African Queen crooner.
Recall that Brymo had taken to social media, calling out the music legend for accusing him of sleeping with his wife, Annie.
He also accused Tuface of being a bully, adding that he had held on to the pain for long and could no longer continue with it.
Following the development, Tuface through his management had threatened to file a N1 billion defamation lawsuit against his colleague,, if he fails to apologize for calling out the music legend on social media.

In another response, Brymo who was given 48 hours to apologize over the allegation, had asked his colleague to go to court as he will be standing by his claims.
He further told 2Face to “stay at home” because his reign is over.
Reacting again, 2Face’s management in a new statement released said that Brymo will have the opportunity to “substantiate his claims with proof in court.”
They also noted that 2Face won’t be dissipating any energy engaging him in media war.
“Only a court of competent jurisdiction can serve justice to the innocent and enforce punitive actions against the guilty and anything asides this is a “circus” and we are no clowns,” the statement read in part.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has confirmed that he has triggered his rematch clause with Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight is expected to take place in March next year.
Usyk has already said he would like to defend his newly-won titles in Ukraine.
However, Hearn has claimed that the rematch will take place in the UK.

Joshua lost his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts to Usyk via a unanimous decision last week.
“Today we officially triggered the rematch for the Oleksandr Usyk fight, which we’ll see early next spring.
“Back in the game and we’re looking for him to become three-time world champion.
“A few niggles in camp for AJ, Usyk had a bad cut, it’s officially triggered, we’ll sit down with K2 Promotions and I think March is when you’ll see that fight.
“This was a disappointing loss to a pound-for-pound great. We don’t need to get back in the game with 10-rounders, he needs to rip those belts off Usyk,” Hearn told DAZN.
