NCP warns FG against sale of public assets
The National Conscience Party, NCP, has faulted the planned sale of public assets by the Federal Government, describing it as a corrupt attempt to hand over the common wealth to few super rich individuals and foreigners.
National Chairman of NCP, Dr. Tanko Yinusa said this during a media briefing to mark the 22nd year anniversary of the party which coincided with the nation’s Independence anniversary. Yinusa, however, said plans have been concluded to hold a mass movement soon in Abuja and Lagos against the sale of public assets by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government. He said: “We cannot be deceived again by the conflicting statements coming from this regime.
Their body language is clearly towards parceling out our public assets among themselves. It is highly criminal that at a time when Nigeria needs to be acquiring much more public assets and setting up more public corporations, they are making this reactionary move under the guise of paying highly fictitious debt.
“As we, NCP mark our 22nd year anniversary on October 1, 12016, we make an urgent and desperate clarion call to all and sundry to join the mass movement against the impending sale of our public assets by the Buhari-All Progressive Congress, APC, regime,” he said.
“This is nothing but a crude and highly corrupt attempt to sell our common wealth to few individuals and foreign partners. ”It is important to note that this super rich capitalist blood suckers got rich from looting our public treasury. Now they want to mortgage the entire future of our unborn children.”
