Rivers United have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, despite a 0-0 draw with Rayon Sports at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda on Saturday.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side had won the first leg 2-0 in Port Harcourt, thanks to goals from Guy Kuemian and Emeka Atuloma.
Rivers United played most part of the second half with 10 men, after Ifeanyi Nweke was sent off in the 58th minute.
But they held on to book a place in the money-spinning stages.
The Port Harcourt club is the only Nigerian team left in continental competition this season, following the early exits of Enugu Rangers, FC IfeanyiUbah and Wikki Tourists.
Head coach of Rivers United, Willy Udube, had vowed that they will work hard, to avoid a repeat of what happened to them in the CAF Champions League against El Merreikh of Sudan.
The Port Harcourt side travelled to Omudurman in the CAF Champions League with a 3-0 lead from the first leg and still crashed out after losing 4-0 in the second leg.
