A former Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has described the N173.980bn 2018 appropriation bill, which Governor Rauf Aregbesola has presented to the state House of Assembly, as a ruse.

Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state, said this in an interview with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday while distributing food items to some widows and pensioners in the state.

The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party said the budget had no clear means of financing it, saying it was a bogus estimates.

According to him, the hardship imposed on the people by the All Progressives Congress government will be over in 2018, saying the PDP will immediately find solutions to all the problems confronting the people.

Omisore said, “For a state that announced it could only implement only 50 per cent  of the 2017 budget, this is another bogus estimates with no clear means of financing it, it is nothing but a ruse.

“What is the big deal in Osun’s 2018 budget when the cost of uncompleted projects in the state is as huge as N500bn? How relevant are these budgets to the well-being of the Osun people?

“Answers to all these budgets are evident on the faces of Osun people. There is hunger in the land. Pensions and salaries are not being paid. But all these will be addressed when we make the right choice through our votes in 2018 and 2019.”

He said Nigerians had seen the best of the ruling APC in the state and at the federal level, stressing that the best of the current ruling government had plunged the people into abject penury.
