Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has described as worrisome and a national embarrassment the fuel situation in the country, saying Federal Government should clear all outstanding debts owed independent petroleum marketers and fix the nation’s refineries.
National President of PENGASSAN, Mr. Francis Olabode, said this in Warri, Delta State, weekend, while declaring open the national executive council, NEC, meeting of the body.
He flayed the attack and abduction of students of Government Girls College, Dapchi, Yobe State, adding that the Federal Government and security agencies should take urgent steps to secure the unconditional release of the students.
His words: “We canvass sustainable temporary ways of resolving the crisis such as payment of all outstanding differentials and outstanding debts, granting bailout funds to independent marketers in the form of forex subventions, while long-term solutions are being worked out.”
