Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is considering a move for former Blues manager, Avram Grant as Antonio Conte’s replacement for next season.
Daily Mail, UK, reports that Grant remains on the club’s radar as he is an integral member of Abramovich’s inner circle.
According to the British newspaper, Abramovich views Grant as a steady pair of hands after the Israeli steered Chelsea to the Champions League final back in 2008.
This would mean that the West London club would be forced to give Conte payout of £9million.
Meanwhile, speaking about speculation surrounding Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea captain, Gary Cahill admitted that in a month time the players will know the club’s new manager.
“It’s been a strange season. There’s been a lot of speculation for many months now,” Cahill told reporters earlier this week.
“The season has finished, it finished on a high for us. We won a major trophy so that was great for everybody – for the fans, the players and the staff.
“And what will be this summer will be and as players we have no influence over that and I’m sure you will get your answers to your questions in the next month or so.”
