Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has ruled out the possibility of leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid in January, even as he admitted dreaming of joining the Spanish giants so he can possibly win the Ballon D’Or prize.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Southampton on Sunday, Hazard confirmed that joining the European champions remains his “dream” and that he wants to “make it happen”.
His comments prompted reports in Spain that Madrid could look to test Chelsea’s resolve to keep Hazard in January.
But in a news conference while on Belgium duty, Hazard confirmed on Thursday that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea in the middle of the season.
Asked if a move to Madrid in January is a possibility, Hazard replied: “No.”
Hazard did, however, trigger further speculations about his future with a teasing reply when asked if he needs to play in Spain to win the Ballon d’Or.
“That’s why I want to go, maybe,” he told ESPN.
