Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has claimed that Eden Hazard was the one delaying on signing a new deal with the club.
Hazard is weighing up his options with less than two years left on his current deal, as the Belgian harbours serious ambitions to play for Real Madrid.
Chelsea blocked Hazard’s exit during the summer and Sarri is keen to keep hold of his most influential player.
Hazard has been in talks with Chelsea over a new deal for several months and Sarri revealed the club are on stand-by as the forward continues to deliberate.
“It’s up to him.
“The club is available to sign a new contract immediately but it’s up to him if he wants to renew,” Sarri said ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Wolves on Wednesday night.
