'Your tenure is a total waste' - PDP blasts Kogi state governor
The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has described the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello as four years of waste.
It claimed that the administration could not point to one completed project.
The party’s position was contained in a statement on Thursday by its Publicity Secretary, Bode Ogunmola.
The statement was the party’s response to a television interview granted by the governor’s spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo.
Fanwo had claimed that the state government has many completed projects to its credit.
But the PDP said there was no truth in the claim.
While saying that Fanwo attempted to deceive members of the public with his claim, the PDP insisted that the state government had no single project to its credit.
It said, “The allegation that the administration of former governor Idris Wada accessed a N20bn bond is false.
“For the records, the administration was only able to access N8bn from the money while it is on record that the balance of N12bn has been accessed by the present administration.
“Out of the N8bn the PDP administration got, it began work on the dualisation of the ‘Welcome to Lokoja’ to the New Market Road that is now left abandoned by the present administration.
“With the bond financing, the PDP administration completed the multi-million naira motor park, began work on the road from Ganaja to the Secretariat Junction, began work on the 14-storey Kogi House in Abuja, the shoreline protection and embarkment along Kabawa, and the construction of 500 housing units in Ganaja, among others.”
