Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said there will be no trial of the agitator.

Ejimakor explained that no trial would hold due to the manner Kanu was rearrested and repatriated to Nigeria.

In a tweet, the defence lawyer reiterated that the upcoming trial of the IPOB leader should be opposed not monitored.

Ejimakor said those who forcefully arrested and repatriated the IPOB leader back to Nigeria would be tried.

According to the constitutional lawyer: “Kanu’s trial is supposed to be OPPOSED, not monitored. Those of you wanting to monitor his trial or wishing him fair trial, thank you.

“But sorry to disappoint you: There won’t be any trial. Never. If any trial occurs, it’s those that renditioned him that will be on trial.”

Kanu was recently rearrested and repatriated to Nigeria.

The IPOB leader was brought back to Nigeria to continue his trial for treason before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Though the Nigerian government has been silent over country Kanu was rearrested, but his family claimed he was nabbed in Kenya.

The IPOB leader had claimed that the Nigerian government had linked him to Islamic terrorist group, Al-Shabab, while giving details of his capture.
