Christian Chukwu faults Oliseh poor handling of Vincent Enyeama
Green Eagles captain, Christian Chukwu has faulted coach Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh on his poor handling that led to the humiliation and sudden resignation of Nigeria’s most capped player, Vincent Enyeama in Belgium.
Enyeama announced his retirement from the Super Eagles yesterday after falling out with Oliseh over his stripping of the Eagles captain as well as ‘’making me to look like a begger’’.
Chukwu, a former captain who led the Eagles to the 1980 African Cup of Nations victory as well as captain of the dreaded Rangers International of Enugu said Enyeama should not have been subjected to such embarrassment.
‘’For whatever it was, Enyeama as a captain deserved respect. Oliseh should have managed things in a matured manner. If he(Oliseh) knew you don’t want him in your team, he should not have invited him in the first place. Removing him as a captain is not the issue, but he deserves respect and should not have been humiliated to the extent of calling security men to walk him out of camp’’.
Chukwu said that he was worried that the poor handling do not get a backlash. Enyeama played 101 times for the Eagles and has a lot of players who are loyal to him. Oliseh should show more maturity and know that he is now a father to the team.
He is a Manager and should manage the players well to get the best from them. Result is important’’, he said.
