Kenneth Omeruo has expressed sadness over the untimely retirement of Vincent Enyeama from the Super Eagles.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning goalkeeper announced his retirement from the team on Thursday following his face-off with Sunday Oliseh, the coach of the team.


Omeruo loaned to Kasimpasa posted an emotional message on Facebook to bid his internattional farewell to Enyeama, saying that he and Nigerians will miss the selfless service of the Lille goalkeeper.

“You are one person that has always watched my back,” Omeruo wrote.
“One person that always keeps me in the perfect position..

“It’s sad to know I will no longer have u.. So I want to thank you for being a great captain..
“I know first hand Nigerians love you.. The team will miss you greatly.. Much love senior man.. @vinny2908.”

In June against Chad, Enyeama won a record-breaking 101 caps to beat a century of appearances compiled by Joseph Yobo last year. The goalkeeper featured in three FIFA World Cups and won the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
