Mr Alfred Aderibigbe, the nurse, alleged to have administered overdose drugs on the late senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Senator Isiaka Adeleke has denied the allegation before Coroner Inquest Panel.
Aderibigbe, who practised as a nurse in Eduabon, an agrarian town in Osun State disclosed that he attended to the deceased around 4am, when called upon by the late senator on the day of his death. He, however, denied administering all the empty ampules of injections found in his room on him.
Aderibigbe appeared before the panel alongside his counsel, Mr Lekan Alabi.
"I saw some drugs on ground; I asked if he had taken anything, and he said there was nothing he had not used before I came.
“I broke three out of the four injections I brought, to trick him, since he insisted that I should give him all the dosages as against what I saw in the prescription.
"I stayed with him from that 4: am, and left at 7:50:am, it is a normal practice for me to stay with him until he wakes up, but, I had to go and take permission from my church because I was supposed to teach in Sunday school.
“I left dipo there. I came back and met him still sleeping…. Dipo was behind him when I entered, I called his name “De Guv” but, he did not respond well. I gave him cardiac massage when I discovered that he was not breathing.
“We quickly rushed him to Biket Hospital, the doctor, Dr Adenle knows that I’m his nurse, he asked what injections I gave him, and I told him. Baba said what I gave him was the normal dosage.
“Dr Adenle checked his hand, and pronounced him dead,” he said.
