 The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has mandated the leaders of the party from Osun West Senatorial district to pick the candidate for the replacement of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke from his Ede hometown.   


The Chairman of the party, Prince Adegboyega Famodun directed APC leaders and elder’s forum of the party in the Osun West Senatorial District to pick a candidate from Ede without delay.
He said the candidate must come from Ede to contest for the senatorial seat within 90 days ultimatum given by the Independent National Electoral Commission to elect and replace late Adeleke.
The APC Chairman gave the directive today during the Osun West Senatorial meeting of Elders forum of APC organized by the party at its state Secretariat, in Osogbo, the state capital.
The Chairman also said the party cannot do anything without consulting leaders from Osun West based on agreement, advice and modalities to use in selecting another candidate that will replace late Senator Adeleke.
During the meeting, not less than 85 per cent of the participants agreed that the candidate should be picked from Ede to complete the tenure of Senate Adeleke who was from Ede.

At the end, the APC Chairman, resolved that all chairmen of the Elders Forum from Osun West, headed by the Osun West Senatorial Chairman Alh Yinusa Amobi and a party representative, Alh Rasak Salinsile will be members of committee which have only 30 days to submit their report on where and how to select a credible candidate that will contest and win the by-election for the party.
