ISIS have claimed responsibility for the Manchester Arena terror attack.

The terrorist organisation says it was responsible for the atrocity that left 22 dead and 59 injured, according to Reuters news agency.

The group said in a statement published on its social media channels that “one of the caliphate’s soldiers placed bombs among the crowds,” and threatened more attacks.

An improvised explosive device detonated as thousands of fans were leaving an Ariana Grande concert at around 10.30pm last night.

Greater Manchester Police says the bomber was killed at the scene and acted alone, but they are now investigating whether he had any help planning the attack.

A 23-year-old from south Manchester has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Shortly after last night's atrocity, a chilling video appeared online in which an 'ISIS jihadist' warned: "This is just the beginning."

He said in the footage: "In the name of Allah the merciful, the grateful, this is only the beginning.
