Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has said he sympathises with Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte over the size of his squad, but feels they caused their own problems by loaning out too many players.
Conte has complained several time during preseason about a lack of depth in his squad.
Although he has spent over £130million on new signings, he remains unhappy with the number of players at his disposal.
Wenger on his part, has the challenge of trying to shift players from Arsenal’s bloated ranks.
Asked if he was surprised that Conte was complaining about his squad size, Wenger said: “Maybe, yes he has the opposite problem [to Arsenal] but if you look at the number of players that are out on loan, they can call a few back.
“I have sympathy for him. But do I feel sorry for Chelsea because they don’t have enough players? Then no.”
