Liverpool midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, has lost the trust of manager Jurgen Klopp, after putting in a transfer request.
The 25-year-old is trying to engineer a move to Barcelona this summer and sent an email to the Reds’ Sporting Director, Michael Edwards, on Friday informing him of his desire to leave Anfield.
Coutinho’s demand came after the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, issued a statement insisting that the Brazilian would not be sold at any price.
Sportsmail reports that the new developments have caused tension and angst between the player and the club. And more worryingly for Liverpool, one of Coutinho’s family member revealed that his relationship with Klopp has fractured, saying that he “does not have the trust of his manager”.
The family member added: “There are things that have happened, there is not the same bond. It is regretful, but that is the case. There is no going back.”
Barca have already seen two bids of £90m and £100m rejected for the playmaker, but are willing to go up to £110m.
