The industrial action declared by the Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has commenced halfheartedly.

Reporters who moved round to monitor the strike observed that some of the staff were still at their respective offices.

Though majority of the ministries were opened but activities were not as robust as before as only 50 percent of the staff were present.

Some of the staff who spoke with our reporter at the State Secretariat on why they show up for duty said they haven’t received their July salary and waiting for government to fulfill its promises of paying the August salary, wondered why they should embark on the strike.

They however alleged threat to their lives for not toeing the path of their counterparts who are sticking to the NLC declared action.
