The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a suit before the Abuja Federal High Court challenging the earlier order declaring the group as a terrorist group.
Counsel to IPOB leader, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who made the disclosure said the suit was filed on Friday.
Ejiofor, in the motion, contended that the pro-Biafra group is a non-violent organisation; therefore the decision of the court to issue an ex-parte order was illegal.
He noted that Kanu was not allowed fair hearing, adding that the court lacked the jurisdiction to grant such an order.
Recall that a Federal High Court in Abuja, had on Wednesday, declared the activities of IPOB as “acts of terrorism”.
