Busty Yoruba actress, Peju Johnson has debunked claims that a man gave her money to buy her new car.
Speaking in a chat with Punch, Johnson said: “I bought the car with my hard-earned money. I actually paid for it in early 2020 but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it could not be shipped to Nigeria until recently.
“People are entitled to their opinions. They are free to say whatever they like. I have found that people who don’t even know one are the ones that usually have the most to say about one. I am used to it and I don’t consider it to be a big deal anymore.
“Many actresses do more than acting. Many of them are influencers on social media and they have other businesses. Whenever they are contracted to represent any brand, they are well paid for it. I am an influencer and I also have other businesses. I sell female items. I don’t know much about male actors but I don’t think many of them do ‘influencer jobs’. I have read many comments on this issue online but I really don’t know why that is so. I only gave my perspective.”
Asked how how her light skin had been an advantage to her career, she said, “I am not sure it has. There are many actresses who are not fair-skinned, yet are doing very well in their careers. There are men who prefer dark-skinned women. I am naturally light complexioned; I did not alter my skin for the sake of any man.”
