The EFL are confident fans will be in stadiums for the Carabao Cup Final in April.

This follows positive talks over making the game safe for supporters to return.

Tottenham and Manchester City meet at Wembley stadium on April 25.

The match was initially excluded from a list of events that would welcome a reduced number of spectators during the roadmap out of lockdown.

The EFL have since campaigned for what chairman Rick Parry has described as “the pinnacle of the season”.

Asked on Sky Sports about fans attending the Final, Parry said recently: “Clearly we are hopeful. We didn’t enter into this season thinking we were going to be without fans.

“Of course, the Carabao Cup isn’t a dress rehearsal for us, it’s the pinnacle of the season and a really important event.”
