Jose Mourinho is in the running to become Celtic’s next manager, the UK Sun reports.

The 28-year-old was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, 17 months after replacing Mauricio Pochettino.

Mourinho, speaking after his dismissal, insisted he wants to find a new job as soon as possible.

According to the Portuguese who has coached Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid in the past, there is “no need for breaks”.

Celtic are looking for a new manager following Neil Lennon’s resignation in February.

Eddie Howe is, however, still considered the front-runner to take over at the Scottish club.

Former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, has also been linked to the job.
