Barcelona have condemned the ‘violent’ attack on their manager, Ronald Koeman, following their LaLiga El Clasico 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Sunday.

A group of angry Barcelona fans surrounded Koeman’s car, as he drove away from the Nou Camp after their defeat to Real Madrid.

Koeman’s men lost to Real Madrid at home following goals from David Alaba and Lucas Vazquez as Sergio Aguero’s late goal was not enough.

Reacting to the development, Barcelona, in a tweet via their Twitter handle, said they would implement measures to ensure “such unfortunate events do not happen again”.

Barcelona tweeted, “FC Barcelona publicly condemns the violent and disdainful acts that our manager experienced when leaving the Camp Nou.

“The Club will take security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not happen again.”

Barcelona’s next game is against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
