Bayern Munich forward, Thomas Muller has said Barcelona are unable to cope with intensity in top-level football.
Muller stated this on Wednesday night, after they beat the LaLiga side 3-0 in their final Champions League group game.
The result means that Benfica finished as runners-up in the group and Barca dropped into the Europa League.
This is the first time since the 2000/2001 season that the Catalans have failed to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Muller, who has now scored eight goals against Barcelona in seven matches, has now explained why they failed.
He told DAZN; “I think Barça can’t cope with the intensity.
“Technically, they have it all, they are great players tactically and technically.
“But they can’t cope with the intensity in top football.”
Barca managed to score just two goals in their six Champions League group games and failed to find the net in any of their four group games against Bayern or Benfica.
