Nigerian blockbuster, October 1 dominated the honours roll at the year’s edition of African Movies AcademyAward (AMAA).

For his impeccable lead role, veteran broadcaster, Sadiq Daba carted home the award of Best Actor In A Leading Role, Best.

Other awards that went to the movie include Best Nigerian Film and Winner for Achievement In Costume Design.

A veteran broadcaster with the NTA, Daba who is in sixties was dragged out of retirement for his critically-acclaimed role.

Best actor in a leading role – Sadiq Daba (Nigeria)

Best First Feature Film By A Director – “Destiny Ekaragha – Gone Too Far”

Special Jury Prize – Le President (Cameroon) and Triangle: Going to America (Ethiopia)

Life achievement award – Tony Vander Heyden (Movie director/producer)

Post humous award – late Oronto Douglas

Special recognition – Africa Magic
