President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, directed his Chief of Staff, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief of Defence Staff, Director of the Department of State Services, Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, and the Permanent Secretary of the FCT to visit the hospitals where corpses and victims were deposited and treated, respectively, after the bomb blasts in Abuja on Friday night.

The team disclosed on Saturday that they got direct orders from the President to visit various hospitals and report their findings back to him.



Speaking on behalf of the delegation at the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital, Abuja, the SGF, Babachir Lawal, said, “At the instance of the President, we’ve gone round the hospitals.

“He set up a team comprising myself, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Chief of Staff to the President, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, the Director of the Department of State Services and the Permanent Secretary of the FCT.

“The President directed us to go round and access the damages arising from the bomb blasts of yesterday (Friday).

“The suicide bombers operated from three locations – Nyanya motorpark, the Kuje police station and the Kuje market.

“The main purpose of our visit is to commiserate with those that have lost their loved ones, some of whom are going through identification process.

“Again, we are out to give encouragement to those that are injured and to encourage the specialists and the security services who have been working throughout the night up till now to investigate and find out the causes and consequences of these three bomb blasts.”
