Popular fast food brand, Chicken Republic have capitalized on the Olisa Metuh corruption saga, and released a new advert ostensibly to mock the detained spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh
The advert has been interpreted in a thousand and one ways by readers and observers.
The advert has generated different reactions from Nigerians with some of the opinion that the ad ridicules Metuh and his political party but others think its ingenuity by Chicken Republic.
It can be recalled that the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh who is currently on trial for his role in the diversion of $2.1 billion arms funds, was recently reported to have attempted to eat a statement he had earlier written for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was on Friday, January 22, arraigned for destruction of evidence, and while the trial is yet to commence, popular fast-food company, Chicken Republic has taken advantage of the purported event.
Chicken Republic released a caricature advert online where the company delivers food to a jailed Metuh, asking him to eat their food instead of his words- an obvious swipe at him for allegedly tearing up his statement.
