Return govt vehicle number plates, Enugu orders politicians
Apparently worried by the increasing security breaches occasioned by politicians who use Government vehicle numbers plates in the state, the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday, ordered the beneficiaries to return them as failure to do so would amount to acting in a manner likely to sabotage government.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Chief Security Officer, CSO,Government House,Enugu,CSP F.N. Ogarabe, the government said that ,”in view of the security implication of such abuse, the affected persons are advised to return the vehicle number plates to the Office of the Chief Security Officer to the Governor, Lion Building, Government House, Enugu, on or before 31st January.
Those who government vehicles earlier assigned to them were monetized but are still retaining the official inscription of the state government numbers on the vehicles, are equally advised to erase the numbers and replace them with private number plates within the same time frame.
“Defaulters will be handed over to security agencies for appropriate action.”
