A leader of the leading Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, on Thursday said if Nigeria is not restructured now, it will cease to “exist.”
Speaking at the Biafra conference in Abuja, Adebanjo insisted that those opposed to the restructuring of Nigeria were the real enemies of the country.
The second republic politician said the question of Biafra was not about separation but about living together on agreed terms.
According to Adebanjo,“The question of Biafra is not about separation, the question is how we want to leave in peace on agreed terms. Anybody opposed to restructuring is an enemy of Nigeria.
“That is why I put it to northerners that are opposed to restructuring; you cannot be more northerner than the late Sardauna who was not opposed to it.
“Our problem remains the military. The military did not allow us to settle our problems.
“My final comment is, restructure now or Nigeria will not exist.”
