Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the lesson Goodluck Jonathan learnt from his defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election, is that you cannot win without substantial support from Yoruba people.
Fani-Kayode writing on his Twitter page on Thursday night, warned that any political party that does not treat Yoruba people with respect, will lose in 2019.
He tweeted: “Consider this: any political party that does not treat the Yoruba people with the respect they deserve will lose the Presidency in 2019.U cannot win without substantial Yoruba support. That was the lesson of 2015 and those that have not learnt it will suffer the consequences.”
The former Minister has also endorsed Fayose’s ambition to become president in 2019.
Fani-Kayode, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, declared that no “force could stop Fayose from becoming the next president of Nigeria.”
The PDP Chieftain made the remark at Fayose’s presidential declaration in Abuja.
