Manchester United new manager, Ralf Rangnick has set out three ways to fix the Red Devils’ defensive issues going forward.
Man United have conceded 24 goals in 14 Premier League matches so far this season.
Rangnick’s side have also scored 24 goals in the English top-flight league so far and currently sits in the seventh position with 21 points.
But Rangnick, who was present at Old Trafford as Man United beat Arsenal 3-2 on Thursday night, believes he will fix the club’s defensive issues by ensuring his defenders minimise the coincidence factor, have control and gain control of a game.
The German spoke on Friday during his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
He said, “Yesterday (Thursday), we conceded two goals (against Arsenal), we needed three goals to win the game and if you look at the total number of goals conceded, it is almost two on average, per game, and this is just too much.
“Football, for me, is to minimise the coincidence factor and have control and gain control of a game. This is football, what it’s about. This is my approach and I will try to help these outstanding, talented players to try and keep away from their own goal.”
