Budget Padding: Yakubu Dogara goes to Buhari for help

Yakubu Dogara, embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, will today hold a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari over the budget padding scandal.



According to reports, Buhari will meet Mr. Dogara at 4.30p.m. The meeting is at the instance of the Speaker, presidency sources said.

Sources said the speaker is worried that the President might believe Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin’s claims if he did not make efforts to state his own side of the story to the nation’s number one citizen. Dogara will also be requesting the President to help call Mr. Jibrin and his backers to order.
