President Muhammadu Buhari has relieved Dibu Ojerinde, a professor, of his appointment as the registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Bem Goong, deputy director of press at the ministry of education, disclosed this in a statement, saying Ishaq Oloyede, a former vice-chancellor (VC) of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), had been appointed the new registrar of the board.
Goong said 16 chief executive officers of parastatals and agencies under the ministry of education had also been replaced.
He listed the new CEOs and their agencies as:
Abubakar Rasheed, National Universities Commission (NUC)
Lilian Salami, Nigerian Institute For Educational Planning and Administration
Hameed Bobboyi, Universal Basic Education Board
Lanre Aina, National Library of Nigeria.
Charles Uwakwe, National Examination Council (NECO)
Abba Haladu, National Commission For Mass Literacy, Adult And Non-Formal Education
Bashir Usman, Nomadic Education Commission
Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, National Business and Technical Examination Board
Sunday Ajiboye, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria
Afolabi Aderinto, Computer Registration Council of Nigeria
Bappah Aliyu, National Commission For Colleges of Education
Abdullahi Baffa, Tertiary Education Tax Fund.
Garba Azare, National Teachers Institute
Michael Afolabi, Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria
Steven Onah, Chinyere Ohiri-Aniche, National Institute of Nigerian Languages
Goong said the appointments were with immediate effect, adding that the new chief executives ere expected at the office of the minister of education at 12 noon on Tuesday.
