Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, urged Nigerians to continue to pray and play their roles to ensure peace and unity in the nation.
Moi Saraki made the call on Thursday in his Eid-il-Filtri message, where he congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and all over the world for successfully completing this year’s Ramadan fast.
The former Governor of Kwara State called on all Nigerians to pray for the nation.
“Undoubtedly, the current insecurity across Nigeria requires urgent action and continued prayers.
“Hence, it is my hope that we will all continue to pray for our nation, as we play our respective roles to entrench peace, unity, justice, and equity,” he said.
Saraki also went further to celebrate those that are on the frontlines to keep Nigeria safe.
“We must acknowledge the bravery of our servicemen and women on the frontlines who are fighting to keep us all safe.
“In this regard, we too as citizens, must unite and demonstrate the same patriotic zeal that will help our country overcome its present challenges,” he further charged.
He finally prayed to the Almighty to free Nigeria from insurgents and terrorists.
“As we move forward, I pray that Almighty God heals our land from all affliction, grants us victory against insurgents and terrorists; and blesses, guides, and protects our nation, its leaders, and all its citizens.”
