The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Osun State has appealed to motorists to do away with any form of reckless and dangerous driving that could lead to loss of lives and properties during and after the Salah celebrations.
The Osun State Sector Commander, CC Kudirat Ibrahim gave the advice in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi in Osogbo.
Ibrahim said, “The command has deployed some officers of the command to all nook and cranny of the state, to help ensure easy traffic flows, and also to caution motorists against dangerous driving.
“We have deployed some officers of the command to some strategic locations that are accident prone.
“Our Tow Van is also available to help clear any gridlock that might occur during the festive period with our patrol vans which will be on the ground to checkmate the activities of all motorists.
“We want to appeal to drivers to ensure their vehicles are in the right order before embarking on any journey for the safety of the passengers and their lives.
“Also, they should avoid speeding, wrongful overtaking, drinking while driving, making phone calls on stirring, among other negative vices.”
According to her, the command would not take it easy with anyone who intentionally disobeyed the road traffic regulations, adding that such persons will be fined or allowed to face the wrath of the laws.
She called for the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the state towards ensuring that the state records zero accident during and after the celebrations.
The sector commander further said the command was collaborating with other sisters agencies to ensure the safety of citizens in the state within the period of celebrations.
