Super Eagles player, John Ogu, has sent prayers the way of national teammates, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, ahead of their Leicester City’s clash with Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.
The 33-year-old midfielder tweeted on Saturday that “Dear lord Jesus, I’m a fan of my brothers @Ndidi25 and @67Kelechi in their FA cup final today. Lord Jesus, may they win it for us all and for their family. AMEN.”
Leicester City players, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, will be looking to join the choice seven-man list of Nigerian players who have won the FA title.
The players that have attained the feat include Daniel Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, Nwankwo Kanu, John Utaka, Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses.
Coach Brendan Rodgers will be counting on Iheanacho, who is City’s highest goalscorer and has enjoyed a fine run of form, to be at his best.
Rodgers will also expect a determined performance from defensive midfielder, Ndidi, who has been a reliable force since joining the East Midlands club from the Belgian side, Genk, four years ago.
Against eight-time winners, Chelsea, Leicester will strive to win their first FA Cup title in what is their fifth final appearance at the competition
