 The new Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Muhammed Mustafa on Wednesday assumed duty at the command’s headquarters.



While soliciting the support and cooperation of members of the public, the Commissioner assured FCT residents of his willingness to partner with spirited stakeholders to make the Federal Capital Territory safe and secure for all.

He also enjoined business owners to guard against keeping cash overnight in their shops and homes; rather they should always endeavour to move cash realised from their daily sales to banks before the close of banking transactions for each day so as not to fall victims to hoodlums.

While warning against keeping routines in the movement of cash, the CP also tasked banks to, as part of their corporate-social responsibility, encourage and educate their customers to guard against keeping cash in their shops and homes.

The new FCT Police Commissioner holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Master Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

CP Muhammed Mustafa took over from AIG Alkali Baba Usman psc, fdc, who has been promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police and posted to head the Zone 7 Zonal Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force.

Prior to his recent posting to FCT Police Command, CP Muhammed Mustafa was the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command. He is a seasoned Police officer who has served the Nigeria Police Force in different capacities.

Some of his postings include: CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), DC Akwa Ibom State Command, DC Kebbi State Command, DC Central Criminal Registry Force CID Alagbon Lagos, Area Commander Wukari Taraba State and Area Commander Potiskum in Yobe State.
