Chelsea defender, Ola Aina, who is on loan at Hull City, has finally been cleared by FIFA to play for Nigeria.
Aina, who has featured for England at age-level competitions, was ineligible to play against Cameroon in Uyo, as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) did not receive his international clearance on time.
He could now make his international debut for the Super Eagles on Monday against Cameroon in Yaounde.
“It’s a double celebration for us. Aina’s clearance has come through from FIFA, and he could feature for Nigeria in Yaounde,” a source informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
If Zambia and Algeria play a goalless draw in Ndola on Saturday and Nigeria pick a fourth straight win in Yaounde on Monday, the Eagles would confirm their place in Russia 2018.
