The three leading candidates in this weekend’s election, Serikae Dickson, PDP, Timipere Sylva, APC and Moses Siasia, PDM are to confront one another this afternoon in a live television debate.

Today’s debate is to be broadcast live on the network service of the public broadcaster, NTA and by the privately owned AIT.

The debate which is organised by the Coalition of Change for Development foundation, (CCDF), is also being sponsored by the National Democratic Institute, NDI an affiliate of the United States Democratic Party and by the International Republican Institute, IRI, an affiliate of the US Republican Party. Speaking ahead of the debate, Comrade Olarenwaju Oretoluwa of the CCDF said the debate will

“focus on areas such as governance, leadership, finance, healthcare, wealth creation, energy, technology, small business, agriculture promotion, education and youth capacity building, housing, investment promotion, and every other areas that touch on the wellbeing of the citizens.

“CCDF is a citizen engagement and accountable Leadership Organisation with a vision to promote good governance and sustainable development through driving the need for healthy socio-economic activities in diverse spectrum of Nigeria’s socio-political and economic landscapes,” he said.
