The Kogi State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has rubbished insinuations in some quarters that the party was behind the crisis bedeviling the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, saying it is only concerned about pursuing its case through constitutional means.

In a chat with newsmen in Lokoja, Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Bode Ogunmola, said APC is embroiled in crisis because of the scramble for illegal booty.

He said: “What is happening in APC is an internal problem. I am not a member of the party and PDP is not interested in the crisis. I think it is normal for anyone to attempt to be opportunistic by fighting for only 49,000 votes to become governor in an election where over 500,000 people voted. They are possibly looking at a window of opportunity in which whoever picks the party’s ticket for the supplementary poll becomes governor in their illusion.

“By asking APC to substitute its late candidate with the hope of transferring votes cast for one person to another is an issue for determination in court. Our party has reacted at the national level. Our party has approached the law court for constitutional determination and we shall continue to honour the rule of law.
