Special Assistant to Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Development Partners, Mansur Manu Soro has said following the payment of N-Power Volunteer Corps (NPVCs) monthly stipend covering December 2016 to April 2017, the Social Investment programmes have injected the sum of N447, 280,000 into Bauchi State economy.
He disclosed this in Bauchi on Wednesday at an interactive session between the N- Power Volunteer Corps (NPVCs) and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Job Creation, Mr. Afolabi Imakwuede.
He said that the state has a total of 42,617 applicants and is among the three best states in the country due to the massive mobilisation and the facilitation of free registration of applicants by governor Mohammed Abubakar.
"In collaboration with institutional partners, we have recorded a successful deployment of 4,834 NPVCs to various places of primary assignment across the lengths and breadth of Bauchi State.
"As one of the key economic policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and the instrument through which the present economic recession is being addressed," therefore he said.
He commended Governor Mohammed Abubakar for providing the enabling environment for implementation of Social Investment Programmes in the st, therefore,
Soro enjoined the NPVCs to furnish the federal government's delegation with all the necessary information needed on the N-Power activities in the state.
On his part, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Job Creation, Mr. Afolabi Imakwuede commended the Bauchi state government for its commitment towards ensuring the success of N-Power and other federal government's Social Investment Programmes.
He said that the provision of office accommodation, running costs and other incentives provided by the Bauchi State government is commendable.
Mr. Imakwuede called on the NPVCs to remain committed to their N-Power job postings in order to actualise the goals of the programme and other similar programmes.
He also charge Nigerian youths to embrace president Buhari's employment generation programmes which were design to reduce unemployment especially among the youths.
The N-Power Programme is a job creation and youth empowerment initiative of the Federal Government been implemented in partnership with the 36 States and FCT.
It was designed to help young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills to become solution providers in their communities and to become players in the domestic and global markets.
