Holidays: Fayose tasks Nigerians on justice, equity
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has called on Nigerians and the nation’s leaders to imbibe the teaching of justice and equity for all men that the Lord Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed taught all men to observe.
This was just as a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, felicitated with Nigerian Christians as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, urging them to continue to have unwavering faith in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to take Nigeria to the promised land.
Fayose, in his Christmas and Malud Nabiyy message to the people of Ekiti and Nigerians issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said without being fair to all, Nigerian leaders would not be able to take the country to the promised land.
He opined that social justice and equity were vital to maintaining orderliness in the society and to give everybody a sense of belonging.
“Both the Lord Jesus and Prophet Mohammed, whose birthdays we are celebrating at the same time, emphasised justice for all and equity in their messages and preaching. Though they were born in the same geographical area, their messages were universal and they never saw themselves as being for a section of the society alone.
While Bamidele, in his congratulatory message to Christians across the nation, exuded confidence that year 2016 would be a year of renaissance for the country, considering the well patterned economic policy to be rolled out by Buhari’s government in the new year. He described the 2016 budget presented by President Buhari as a budget of change and realism which would enhance infrastructural development, job creation and far reaching social intervention.
The member of the 7th House of Representatives appealed to Christians to continue to live harmoniously with their Muslim brothers, describing this as panacea to ethno-religious upheaval.
